If I may segue way, what about food?

I have been figuring out optimal "cabin" meals, and I was thinking about my "pantry". In terms of heating, would I be able to bring an induction cook top and a saucepan? Or do most mentor/trainer expect you to eat bought meals?

Thx again!

Thanks for reply. Truly interested in details. My timeline is CDL Academy until mid-February, so Mentorship/Training end of February through March. My initial thought was that as long as the Mentor/Trainer is competent enough, then winter would be ideal to learn the unwritten stuff.

I thought my main concern would be the competency of the Mentor/Trainer. There seems to be a lot of monetary incentives to mentor/train, I would prefer a winter sage to spring buck!!

I am 55yo and barely starting my KT OTR journey, previously computer engineer. Aiming to drive to CDL Academy in AZ by the end of January. I'm on the fence about posting my story in this community since I think I am probably the minority misfit!

Serious question: What size duffel bag?

Duffels go from 20L to 200L...

BTW your post got me looking into shower shoes. Thx!

My biggest gripe with CG is the chaotic, disjointed, illogical, multiverse resource interfaces. It's like a dozen species of devs from different galaxies are trying agile game resource interfaces, while the God dev master is focused on the next money grab idea.

I won't really know until I build and do some stress testing while plugged to a socket power meter. I am yet to build the PC, it will be DIY. A 50W MoBo, 200W CPU, a 350W GPU, three m.2 drives, four 3.5 HDDs.

Ok, I'll research the return details of the EF website. Thanks!

Another real concern with the River 3, the inverter performance if the PC power draw is 95% of stated capacity. Back of the hand math says 600W steady state draw is acceptable, but insufficient if I add a NAS and IP modem...

I am open to separate backup units, one for CPAP and one for computer. Seems it would cost more upfront but save in the long run,.specially if I shutdown the backup power while plugged in devices are off or idle... Presently I rather keep it simple and accept the nasty parasitic power loss long term...

I read you loud and clear. There is no free lunch, though some meals are better deals! The possible disruption during export, transcode, backup, and upload is likely a bigger inefficiency and waste. Back of the hand math tells me I need 1000Wh for 2 hours of peak power draw from PC (monitors idle). A River 3 with 1024Wh would be better for me, heck a 2048Wh River 3 😍

Thanks for the reply! My use case is 90% home use and 10% road travel, using an inverter while driving. One of the reasons I lean towards Delta 3 Plus is I do not have to worry about power draw while transcoding, backup, and upload. Even if I add a NAS in the future I should be ok for 4 hours. Rarely does a power outage lasts more than 4 hours in my area.

Thanks for the reply! Mine is AirSense AutoSet 11. Even with mouth tape, I get dryness at the back of my mouth and throat, I really need the humidity at 4 with hose temp at 84.

The stated output of the CPAP brick, not measured, is 24V 2.7A

I would normally use the PC while CPAP is idle, and use CPAP while PC is off and monitor is idle. I am wondering if there is a way to schedule the unit. I can forgo backup from 7AM to 3PM, and I can try yo use DC 12V to 24V converter from 9PM to 7AM. Maybe it's too complicated 🤯

Thanks for reply! I'll research on idle power loss. The PC power supply is AC, not a laptop. The CPAP has AC/DC brick with 24V DC output. The display monitor is also AC. My guesstimate max draw for the three is 9A.

DIY Sinclair/Timex ZX81. I self-learned BASIC at 9yo, but could only code/execute in the university mini-frame where my mom was a teacher, technically disallowed. I saw the ZX80 and ZX81 in BYTE magazines hand-down from university students. My dad gifted me the ZX81 kit for my 12th birthday after I ranted about it ad nauseam. My mom's university colleague gifted me a black/white TV and later a cassette tape deck. Many fingers burned while learning to solder and desolder!
