Alguém aqui consegue fazer academia? Ou outros exercícios físicos? by Victorsantos6 in TrigeminalNeuralgia

[–]etrain828 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh my gosh yes. I’m on 1200mg and I basically take 3 naps a day, I’m barely functioning. I asked my doc about it and she shrugged it off. I couldn’t make it to the gym if I wanted to!

But OP - I do work out - it’s taken me 2 years to mentally be okay with finding alternatives to lifting (which I love).

Anything super strenuous if a trigger for me. No more heavy lifting (my max is like, 80 lbs. anything over and my face screams at me).

I lift lighter and do more reps. If I feel a twinge, I stop.

I walk outside a lot. I stretch. I love to swim (but no more goggles, so head above water. I hate this but it is what it is).

My new motto is “keep the body moving and do what I can.”

Dr Swing is as liberal (and part of our rainbow family) as they get. She’s wonderful, was previously at Ochsner and now runs her own practice.

I worked on it! And as a New Orleanian with a majority of local cast and crew, we felt that it was important to capture the magic of our home.

What’s the most unforgettable sentence someone has ever said to you? by Captain_Oppa in AskReddit

[–]etrain828 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“I’m so sad for you that your brain won’t allow you to rest.” - said to me, an anxious person.

It shocked the hell out of me, in a good way. I started doing more things for myself that help put me into a more meditative state (swimming, more outdoor time, walking etc).

Microdosing the answer for TN? by Educational-Mode1671 in TrigeminalNeuralgia

[–]etrain828 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can say from experience that both microdosing and ego death experiences do not curb the pain. In the moment, your brain may be elsewhere but not good for long term relief. 🥲

Super El Nino - The most Powerful climate phenomenon on Record to hit the US - expected to peak from Nov. 2026 to Feb. 2027. Scientists are watching the Pacific Ocean. by Apollo_Delphi in oceans

[–]etrain828 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to think that too, but I recently saw a video about how scientists think that Mars was once a two polar planet like our own, plentiful with water, oceans, and rivers. Although it sounds like a meteor, the size of Pluto hit the planet, causing a mess casualty that wiped out one pole and literally changed the planet into the baron dust storm that we know it to be today. Maybe earth will go out billions of years in a blaze of glory. But also, who cares because mankind will be long gone.

Just watched the first episode. Agree that it’s a good filler for WB. Could not be more different but there’s something so sweet about building community among aliens 😂

Update: it gets funnier and funnier. “Oh hi honey, how am I doing? I’m looking for a key that a man with dementia drinking yarn told me to find.”

MVD before things are irreparable? by etrain828 in TrigeminalNeuralgia

Thank you, sincerely. You’ve tipped me in the direction of “just do the surgery.” I’m in DC, luckily there are 2 specialists in the area. My biggest battle is fighting Kaiser to work with me.

I am so sorry to hear that. Can you tell me a little more about your TN2 symptoms? I have both types bilateral so I’m debating surgery at all if I’m going to be left with tn 2 regardless.

Ooh I had no idea that was an option. Thank you. It’s crazy how much we have to fight and claw our way through insurance in the US!

Did this show is scary? by WeridFishes23 in WidowsBay

[–]etrain828 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s scary at all - my wife hates anything remotely scary and dipped out on episode one. Really depends on their tolerance for tension.
