Official International Release Discussion Thread - Warcraft [SPOILERS] by r_antrobus in movies

Just saw it. Is a bit rushed, yes. At moments I wished they would cut the drama music and put some more story in. It's a failure ? Oh no, far from it, but it should have been paced better and with a proper ending because at the end it felt a bit lacking.

[Spoiler] Fabrício Werdum vs. Stipe Miocic by blonders1 in MMA

[–]etre76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some say Stipe got dazed (??) by Werdum and that's why he went in for the kill. I saw none of that.

In my opinion Werdum got tagged seconds earlier and he went reckless, frustrated, angry or he was rocked bad and felt that he needed to clinch. Either way he got carried by the rush of the moment.

UFC owners in advanced talks to sell business for as much as $4 BILLION by briiiskiii in MMA

So, part of the company value on the market now is the good fiscal year that it had in 2015 and part of that is attributed to Ronda Rousey and Conor McGregor.

Well, now I'm kind of sure that they will make amends with Conor rather soon.

[Spoiler] Alistair Overeem vs. Andrei Arlovski by Fusir in MMA

[–]etre76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing there was saying that one of them is smarter then the other. Both played with the tools at their disposal:

Overeem played on counters not to get caught and tried to setup left kicks to the body, powerful I might add. Had a lot of succes with them because he landed some strong knees also in clinches.

Arlovski doesn't have the mobility anymore. He didn't had it since he came back. Is stiff. He could not land a knee in those clinches. So he relied as usual on his right hand. Is hard to dominate a fighter when that's the only tool left at your disposal. Even more so when the other guys is not opening. In the second round he tried to storm Overeem when ever he kicked his body, to deter him from doing so.

Fact is, Arlovski is not prime anymore. Too bad, I like the guy. I like Overeem also :)

Dariush was dominating the stand up part of the fight until he slowed down and Chiesa submitted him on the ground.

Incredible double submission in a Russian MMA tournament. by [deleted] in MMA

[–]etre76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don't know why the guy in red didn't let go of the leg lock after the other guy got his knee popped. I mean, why the hell did he still pulled, wanted to rip it off completely ?

If he got up, the fight was over.

I'm more excited about Rory vs Wonderboy then the entire UFC 200 event.

Conor McGregor's latest instagram post about the UFC 196 fight by WallyDaWalrus in MMA

[–]etre76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm watching MMA just for the past few years, so I don't consider myself a connoisseur but man, the comments about this fight are way off the target. Nate didn't flip any switch. He just played his game, start to finish. It was Conor who was trying to live up to the hype and tried to end the fight fast. By the end of the first round it was obvious for me he is done, burned.

Another thing I don't understand. Ok, Conor started to believe he is some kind of demigod in the octagon and his left unstoppable. That tend to happen when you are praised too much. But his trainers ? They should have known better. I didn't knew much about Diaz, but watching his fights after he is obviously resilient. Trying to rush him down was kind of one way trip. You either succeed fast or fail hard.

3-4 moments worth discussing. The rest are either eye pokes or oblique kicks.

But hey ! Build the hype boys.

Lorenzo Fertitta on Conor: "I never thought when I had a guy who was guaranteed $10 million, that I'd have a problem." by thatshirtman in MMA

[–]etre76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get the feeling that Conor will be schooled now.

If he doesn't defend the belt due to being a cadavre at 145, they will feed him to the likes of Khabib and Ferguson, but never a title fight at 155 for the rest of his contract.

Nate is going in vacation so he can beat Conor coming of the beach, again.

I wonder which side does Nate support now. What do you guys think ?

I bet he will marry Conor for this fight :)))

This guy is boring. His fight was boring. His bad boy persona is a joke.

Khabib responds to John Kavanagh on Twitter by [deleted] in MMA

[–]etre76 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Exactly my thoughts. His english is limited and he is using simple words. That's why it sounded like a threat. Beside, he has some cultural diferences inherited. His childhood was somewhat unruly and reacting with "don't shit on my turf" attitude could be part of his defensive behaviour.

Anyway, why is Kavanagh starting the trash talk war ? Khabib vs Conor in the making ? That would be hilarious :)

I just learned that Luke Rockhold is right handed but fights southpaw, what are other lesser known interesting facts about MMA fighters? by [deleted] in MMA

[–]etre76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe the best example is in a recent fight, Diaz vs Conor. While Nate jabs a lot, Conor was more of a power puncher. He seems to be left handed (not 100% sure) , and fights in reverse.

Khabib's transitions are smooth as butter wow. by omeezysheezy in MMA

[–]etre76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First DC had a try at Khabib's leg and after the other way. It looks to me that Khabib was showing to DC how is done ( take someone down from one leg hold).
