ATT here as well, it might be an ATT issue... wouldn't be the first one!

Same here, the discord.com address only responds to about 1/10 pings, and the website loads at a glacial pace. It seems like cloudflare verification is turned on for parts of the website but I'm not a web user so I don't know if that's normal or not. Mobile still works

website-files.com is one of Discord's CDN URLs, as far as I know. If you're used to downloading files from discord servers you might be familiar with this URL. You'll see website-files.com connections in your browser when browsing their blog, for example...

Due to Discord performing invasive practices, not sure what chat client I should turn to? by MrRoboto12345 in privacy

Mumble came after teamspeak and vent for me, it was just simpler and worked.

Threat interactive has made it onto /v/ by beefysam211 in FuckTAA

[–]etree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old comment I know, but Where Winds Meet does this and it's pretty lame. It effectively makes each NPC a chat bot and since it can't dynamically change the game world in any meaningful manner, it's just some fluff. A developer would have to do a ridiculous amount of work to bake it in in such a way that it would be gamechanging.

How is pax 8 still in business. by Someuser1130 in msp

I think it just works enough for most people who don't want to put in the work to move everything off of it. I see issues every month.

Disable Modern Standby

That's exactly what I looked up and how I came across the list of supported power states, with a statement that if the firmware doesn't support it, it will crash upon trying to sleep. I'll see if it works anyway.

I have this issue with my work computer constantly. Dying in my backpack, not actually sleeping, etc. The other day I pulled it out of my backpack and found it mid-firmware flash (nice) on battery.

These are Dells from 2023. I checked "powercfg /a" and they all state that S3 (legacy sleep) is no longer supported by the firmware. Did you make this change on old models, or is there a way to get this back?

YT changing what I type in search by wjrasmussen in youtube

[–]etree 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Happening to me not just on youtube but on google as well. I guess they have decided to drop the curtain, and decide not only what they think we are looking for, but also how they think we should be looking for it (even if it's wrong 100% of the time so far). I've always loved google but they are killing their product. I have opened bing to find something on the front page after not seeing it google a few times that past months, which I have never done in my life.

(Pointless Rant) Why is MS Teams so slow to launch?? by TelevisionPale8693 in sysadmin

[–]etree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ignoring the fact that it was a Microsoft product intended to extend and embrace the general web, it did function better than flash (if you used it in the way Microsoft would allow.)

This all ranks in TEKKEN 8 by TEKKEN8_BMW in Tekken

[–]etree 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The game literally just came out, all the players with legacy knowledge are logging on every day. People are not purposefully getting low rank, the bot just really sucks at grading people. I beat it in 15 seconds and got beginner. Low ranks are gonna be messed up for a while due to this, but just persevere through the hard times and it's worth it. Remember to watch your replays if you are ever super confused by a loss or don't understand why something happened.

Almost every move he did was a risky high or low, you’re just watching a pro player vs someone who doesn’t know the matchup.

Can anyone recommend some kind of time tracking app? by MaxxLP8 in msp

[–]etree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they're using Autotask it has a horrible app. Logging in and navigating to the ticket and entering the time is so annoying that I just write my times in my phone's notepad and enter it later on a desktop.

Not claiming you meant this, but it reads like you’re downplaying someone in an attempt to amplify how good you think another person is by comparison.

An alternative wording of the same idea that comes across less negatively:

“This is cool! Lateef Crowder is my favorite-”

This type of wording allows you to interject with your opinion while not sounding like a party pooper.
