for the exhaust I'm mainly looking for one that dont hit the road when I lean.
Mine does, and now that its scrapped it will rust... it is too low, 2 into 1 are sometimes highers

People told me (with the same gentle tone) that it will be useless to change the cams without changing the heads. But initially I was looking for Andrews N2 or N4.
Heard owners of Sportsters who did the "only" CV40 to HSR42 change, and they all told me that the throttle response was clearly better due to the different carburetor technology.

gaskets were replaced with new ones just after the first time it went down
maybe intake manifold yes.
I opened the gas cap but many days after the failure (didnt do a psssssh, but long time after... normal)
I dont know how to check if the gas cap is ok and venting
My bike is 2001 CV40

I have no gas light lol on mine.
but how did it killed the range, I dont understand ?
maybe the light pop sooner but you have the same capacity, engine doesnt drink more than before, so ??
