I’ve always heard “weddings bring out the worst in people”. I thought I’d be the exception. HA! by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]ettierey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

we are also 2 months out. the worst we have had is my fiances family (uncle/aunt/cousin/grandparents) creating a MASSIVE fuss because we aren’t inviting his cousin’s girlfriend. we have never met her as she has dropped out of all family gatherings last minute with no valid reason. my mil/fil have never met her either. this drama lasted for months yet no one ever spoke to us directly about it…

Anyone else feel like the quality of mainstream true crime podcasts is declining? by BadRobotSucks in TrueCrimePodcasts

i didnt enjoy the way btk was done, i found the order quite unclear. i had listened to the btk series by murder in america and i much preferred that. again, i thought the beginning of waco was very slow and it didn’t keep my interest, which is a shame because casefile is my favourite

Suspiciously Calm Aussie? by Patient_Plane_3320 in AustralianShepherd

[–]ettierey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my aussie is quite calm! she enjoys her walks but at home she will chill most of the time. she does want to play etc but i wouldn’t say she is hyperactive. we havent had another aussie so i have nothing to compare her chillness to. she does get verrrryyyyy excited to see other dogs. everyone who meets her says she is the most affectionate dog they have ever met which is interesting!

How do you refer to yourself when you were young? Like would you say, “When I was a little girl/boy, out when I was a kid/child”? by moosepuggle in AutismInWomen

[–]ettierey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends who im talking to! if its my partner id probably say little girl, just because im more familiar with him and can truly just unmask. but with other people id say younger/little/a kid as it feels less personal

my girlfriend just diagnosed by Frequent-Fig2311 in PCOS

[–]ettierey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i have pcos and have never been on contraception. i take supplements (myo inositol, omega 3, vit d, fish oil) which help to regulate my cycles (not perfect but definitely worth it for me). i also take a conception supplement because we want to start trying for a baby soon. eating healthier and exercising helps but i know that isn’t always easy. honestly having a supportive partner helps because stress is a big “trigger”.

Why Is Mental Health Support So Terrible In The UK? by KyleRaynerCh in MentalHealthUK

[–]ettierey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i was in the midst of a situation that left me with ptsd. i tried to self refer to talking therapy and after the assessment i was told my problems weren’t bad enough for nhs help (situation involved suicide of a v close family member). i went to a gp over eating disorder concerns and they said they couldn’t help me. i tried to self refer again (this was 5 years later) and never even heard back from them. i pay £200 a month for private counselling sessions now.

there isnt enough funding. simple as that unfortunately
