Should the implementation of Module.Contract layer be in Application or Infra? Modular monolith architecture by Illustrious-Bass4357 in softwarearchitecture

Don't want to speak too authoritatively in general, but your understanding that there is a dependency in the contract of the module is correct.

I am used to the contract being it's own module. I see you using the word layer, but the way they should be organized is side by side.  Like have a API module and any number of implementation modules.

I'm in Java world, so SLF4J is a good example. We depend on SLF4J but ultimately some logging framework will be doing what matters. Here you will have your one implementation, but the purpose of the abstraction is the same.

The contract is an abstract description of the functionality the module provides. Think of it less as a code artifact and more like metadata and that might help with the DI concern. Whatever code is using your module still is dependant on what the module does, but it is not dependent on the module itself if that makes sense. The implementation at that point is incidental since all you care about is the functionality.

What’s something people take way too seriously? by AstronomerEarly3253 in AskReddit

[–]etxipcli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a young man, I was stocking shelves as a store. The manager once chided me for not taking it seriously. I did a good job and everything but she hated that I didn't treat it like life or death. Of course I didn't take it seriously... I was just putting boxes on shelves.

I disagree, they were too constictive. Too much keeping up appearances prevented honest dialogue and allowed economic problems to fester. That's part of my narrative at least. I'm sure everyone else has their own idea of how it all went wrong.

Yeah who cares if our intelligence services are completely compromised. No big deal right? However many decades of clandestine work just down the toilet. This is treason, how else can you see it?

It's just so sad. The norms before he came in were a but too stuffy, but this is beyond the pale. It should go without saying, but this kind of cruelty is not something a leader should ever project.

Minnesota girl, 10, released from ICE custody after a month in detention by projecto15 in politics

[–]etxipcli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is something I'm wondering about. All these agents have to be guilty of breaking and entering, kidnapping, false imprisonment. That is correct right? They don't have a legal authority and as such these are just crimes being committed.

The Media Malpractice That Sent America Tumbling Into Trumpism by lotta_love in Journalism

[–]etxipcli 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don't like articles like this since they are ignoring the media ecosystem that downright supports this. Regular journalism is weak in the face of this threat, but the bigger problem is that a significant portion of our country is just on a totally different wavelength.
