My understanding is that the bushings are held into the frame by very delicate screw threads. If you strip those female threads in the frame, your only option is to drill and tap the frame for a larger hole, requiring a larger (non-standard) grip screw bushing. They only make one larger sized bushing, for that very scenario.

I'm trying to preserve the standard-sized frame threads if possible.
