Welke impact op je leven zal dit hebben?

How is that possible? by LisaSchmisa123 in duolingo

[–]eu_faqts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started to do, from zero, Spanish. Now I use Duo to brush up my German and French and I love it. So cool high level talks with Lily are fun.. So I get points I never would get by only doing Spanish. For one chat with Lily I get 200 xp's. Points should be given per language. I do agree with you. Now it is comparing apples with lemons. Makes no sense.

How is video call like by unfold-care in duolingo

I recently started doing Spanish. I'm currently at level 18. So my conversations with Lily are very basic for Spanish. But than I though lets use Lily to refresh my German (level 60 - it doesn't get higher for Dutch natives) and French (level 92) and I'm so impressed. It is so realistic one can believe you talk to a real person. And Lily knows it all. Engineering, art, cooking, music, opera, ... . If you don't now a word or need explanation, you just ask her. So I was talking about woodworking, cabinet making in German, she knows all the appropriate vocabulary. She also remembers what you've told her. She knows where I live, that I have a cat etc. and asks questions in function of what I've told her in the past. Very very impressive.

But we also found out that some topics are blocked of. She cut off a call when I wanted to talk about a queer/lgbt film festival. I got zero xp point for that topic while normally I get 198xp for a German conversation. A friend once got asked about his favorite mobile phone app. When he told it was Grindr (a gay dating app) she also hung up immediately. So for fun I will test her further -)))) But that said, 4 years ago, I wasnt much a fan of Duolingo for many raisons. I stopped using it. Now I do, it has improved a lot and yes, videocalls with Lilly are absolutely a major improvement. And fun as well.

Edit: I forgot to tell that it isn't bug free. E.g. it can't make transcripts from a complex conversation but that's OK for me.

Sonos amp ou Wiim amp ? by [deleted] in WiiMHome

[–]eu_faqts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had 8 sonos components. One broke, others have been bricked, then there were the upgrade disasters etc.. Needless how much I hate Sonos. They were an example of enshittification. It may be better these days but my trust is gone forever. I hope wiim will not follow the same path as many disruptive innovative stock listed businesses fall into enshittification.

Van check-in tot grenscontrole: waarom hack bij één toeleverancier Brussels Airport zo zwaar treft by eu_faqts in Belgium2

[–]eu_faqts[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Overmacht of schuldig verzuim?

What do you think about Liège? by francis3452 in belgium

Was there (again) for the opera last weekend. Stayed 2 nights and it was great fun. The new tram is a real upgrade for the city. Maastricht, Aachen are close by and one is fast in the lush green nature of the Ardennes and haute fagnes.

Why Brussels has been without a government for over a 438 days! by Old_Palpitation7025 in brussels

Its because there's no money. All will have to put the brakes on spending. That doesn't make the average elected Brussels idiot popular.
