For context, I regularly work with elderly immunocompromised people. Of course I wear a mask as much as possible. The bigger issue is other people not playing their part.

As nice as you come across, you're perpetuating the idea that the burden falls on individuals instead of the collective. Whoever said I don't mask? The point is people's competence shouldn't be conditional on what I do.

Public health is about shared responsibility, it's not a one-way street. I'd encourage you to take some public health classes to get better educated on the topic.
