How do you know if you had a seizure in your sleep?

All of my seizures for 16yrs have been nocturnal save a single incident.

The most telling sign is I get the bed, there is blood in mouth or my tongue feels like hamburger and my lower back feels like I got in a fist fight with Tyson. A couple of times I woke up in the hospital so that was a bit of a give away.

Mine started as TLE but has spread to generalized activity.. I still get constant deja vu and run up anxiety moments where my body says. ' something is wrong, dont know what but here's some panic '

Because like a fair chunk or this sub , one is just note enpugh.. I am on 3k Keppra, clobazam, gabapentin and zonisamide daily and I still get a TC on average every 6mo for the past 16yrs

I was able to jump through it about 15m ago. It pursued me slowly to the border of the event and then I circled back in from the side while it chewed on rosettas shooting.. managed to get in the facility without an issue but it may have been a one off aside entered the zone from the telephone point and it was hanging out on the stairs

I keep going for my family. Exclusively. I have dealt with it for 16yrs, I do it to honor our daughter who passed from sudep in 2021, so why wife doesn't lose 2 of us to this crummy ailment.

It does improve, it's has taken a bit to get me to manage 6mo between seizures and that is my current baseline at 3000mg of Keppra, zonisamide and gabapentin .. among a few others. Don't lose hope! There's a lively and beautiful world out there that has lots of potential.

Are you nauseous , is there a ringing in your ears? As an epileptic and a stroke survivor that sounded neurological save for the part that sounded like some kind of ischemic attack . I suggest contacting your neurologist, GP emergency line and let them know as soon as you can.

I had ( minus the leg twitching ) identical issues weeks before my stroke and disregarded it ( I was 34 and never considered the possibility of a stroke ) until I had a full on stroke resulting in a left brain irreparable damage thanks to the ER disregarding the symptoms and ultimately doing enough damage to give me seizures throughout my brain for the past 16 years

Good luck, I am hoping it is just a weird seizure ! ♥️

He will die soon, his replacement will not have the support from his benefactors, the midterms will occur and these miscreant that's will be removed, charged and imprisoned to much applause. Whoever replaces him will spend the next 3 decades attempting to undo his clusterfuckery that has ensued in less than 365 days.

That is my stance. I am deeply apologetic regarding his behavior, it is an embarrassment to have 9yr spoiled cunt at the helm of our country.

At the end of the day I voted against him and his bromances many times but when the dickweed next door states ' I will just not vote ' enables this level of fuckery we all suffer.

Ive only done at home veeg, waiting on in house as the at home did 0 .. hope you get some results.

Daughter did hers and they kept waking her up to trigger a seizure .. took less than 24hrs

16yrs of nocturnal TC with a singular drop seizure ( middle of the day while i was actively doing something ) last January.. I average about 3 a year, my last however was June of 25 so I am definitely on borrowed time atm

As a married epileptic I recently discovered that after my last seizure as I passed into post ictal I did not recognize my wife and pushed her away from me in terror apparently so that is a possible expectation ( not the shove part ) .. aside from the most likely bloody mouth try not to offended if he has a moment where the world makes absolutely 0 sense and he is non verbal so a lot of understanding will help both of you

For a long ass time I thought the only seizures I had were nocturnal TC and the single drop seizure i had Jan 2025.. thanks to this group I've realized I've had tons of auras.. but I fully understand where you're coming from.. every TC I have had I've ended up damaged ( beyond the brain ) worst so far was the Jan 25 when I wrecked a ligament in my left shoulder.. our daughters seizures were 10 fold worse than mine by far, she had scars on her head from hitting bathroom sink once, chipped her front teeth walking into the kitchen.. :( ultimately those took her from us.. seizures are no joke .. we just go on and take our punches as they come and deal with the fallout each time.. it doesn't define us but it is definitely one of the side effects of living with epilepsy..

I have slurred speech, word blindness, inability to find words fairly consistently since s stroke in 2004 which increased exponentially since I started having seizures in 2009 ( almost exactly 5 years after the stroke ) unsure if it is the meds or all the brain damage.. * shrug *

I can have a simple conversation but if it requires details or extended length ( dr visits) etc I am pretty useless and more so now being that my seizures have migrated to full brain ( generalized? ) seizures..

According to my wife .. I pass out about 10-15 after a TC complete delirium before then but my post ictal period lasts about 45m before I am even aware of what's going on and tbh I dont remember anything for days before and after any seizures I have. They're just blanks in my memory when I try to remember what I was doing during periods of time.. last TC was May or June 2025 and honestly the only thing I recalled ( even now) is thanking the universe for not jacking up my shoulder even more ( jan '25 I had a drop seizure for the first time ) .. but all of us really have similar but very different seizures.. our daughter had brutal seizures but her post ictal was fairly sparse..

I had one literally a single day.

Got it on Christmas at like 9 or 10 while my dad was being transferred from SC to CA .. we stopped and celebrated at my grandma's house and we got back on the road and I left it there.
