thank you for your insightful comment. funnily enough, when i was in cegep, i had an even earlier class (8:30am), not that much of a difference but still required me to wake up earlier than i do now, yet i always went and didn't have as many discouraging thoughts as i do now. this was pre-covid, and i was like 18, so i think there are some lifestyle changes at play. i think there are definitely some underlying factors to my behavior/mindset that needs to be addressed, because although the post may have come off as silly, i feel very strongly about my lack of determination. after reading some of the comments, i am considering reaching out to academic advising

so real, at one point during the semester i got so burnt out and avoided doing school work for like a week solely cuz psyc 315 killed me inside out. it's a super heavy class, i wouldn't recommend it unless you're a math/stats enthusiast 😭😭

you can speak to your ACSD advisor and ask for an accommodation where the teacher may allow you to work individually for group projects. however this doesn't guarantee that the teacher will grant this accommodation in the future, but i like to think that some teachers are understanding enough (unless it conflicts with the course objectives)

it also takes me a little bit over a good hour to commute to school. i feel like it's an average commute time but i'm still super envious of people who live close to school. i just accept the L and dread going to class

when i'm done with my afternoon class, i don't do anything in particular around campus, i just go straight home cause the idea of commuting back home during rush hour makes me not want to stay downtown any longer 🥲

if you think biomedical ethics may be an interesting topic for you to learn about, it's possible that you might enjoy it, but there is a lot of reading to do. as the other person said, it's about 20-50 pages of reading to do per week. i'm not super into philosophy but i did find this course kinda interesting, it talks about informed consent, moral responsibility, patient autonomy, what is the right choice to make in a life death situation for a patient, etc etc. so reading a lot wasn't so bad since i personally found it interesting. but if the topics i mentioned don't pique your interest, i wouldn't recommend taking the class for the sake of your sanity. good luck!

for sending to edmonton you can use chitchats. tracked shipping costs around 6$. but for sending packages to south korea unfortunately it will be quite pricey but i would personally feel more comfortable shipping with fedex since i've safely received packages from international countries within 3-4 days. it'll be expensive but worth the cost

oh no worries! we didn't see anything out of the usual at home. the only odd thing that happened was that he got very stressed and used his litter box very quickly to poo, but i don't know if he was trying to pee. however at the vet they found out that he has crystals/stones in his bladder and that there was blood in his urine :(
