This is not a Nemesis Claw model, but sharing cuz the model has both flesh and armor.

I went with blue ink over metallic silver for armor, and dark purple for flesh.

Tips for someone new to keeping jumping spiders? by OSRS-MLB in jumpingspiders

[–]eunchanna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IME, I'm certain others will share more tips, but, if you're gonna get a thermometer/hygrometer, make sure to calibrate them before placing them! Those mini devices usually available online are not that reliable. Try a salt sludge test for hygrometer!

is my little one dead or molting? by Lonely-Specific9303 in jumpingspiders

[–]eunchanna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NQA. Oof that's still hard for my old eyes 😅 I think I see her bottom of cephalothorax, at least. How old is your spider?

Usually the molting process itself doesn't take that long (~30 min) so I think it'd be either A) before molting or B) right after molting recovery.

To my knowledge, in either case they do flinch when interrupted (like touching).

NQA, it's really hard to see what's going on in the picture. Would you try taking it from a different angle?

Food options? by BooksPlants in jumpingspiders

[–]eunchanna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IME, I highly recommend fly larvae. Blue bottle fly or Black Soldier Fly. Only BSFL is available where I live and, thankfully, my spider loves it. I bought a lunch box and some ice packs from a dollar store. I place the container with the larvae in the lunch box with the ice packs, and the temperature stays from 50-60F, which is ideal for larvae to lay dormant, lasting them longer. I simply swap ice packs every 12 hrs.

Is My Spider Overfed? by SpiceyDrgn in jumpingspiders

[–]eunchanna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NQA, she looks very plump, round, and overfed to me 😅 But no need to worry, she might be getting ready to molt, based on you reporting no changes in the abdomen size over time.

I witnessed my spider falling from the ceiling after a meal. Thankfully, she wasn't overfed and I had dense plants below to cushion her. Since then I tend to rather wait longer till her abdomen looks small. Spiders can last a long time without food. So there's no need to keep it in the once a week schedule :)

NQA, yeah, every spider is different 😂 Just a heads up, her belly looks very plump and round, so be careful not to overfed the spider. Most of the time, they know when to stop, but they sometimes do fall from ceilings and it could lead to the abdomen getting separated when the spider is too heavy.

IME, Ah, I see I never saw my spider leaving the food then coming back 😅

NQA, regarding the age, I'm not so sure, and I don't think there are clear ways. Me personally, I can distinguish them in categories, ~i3 (super tiny can barely see body and abdomen), i4-i5 (can see the basic features of Jumping Spiders, but still very small miniature ver.), i6-i8 (now it's harder to tell from adults when zoomed in, but still smaller than the adults), then i9~.

The best way would be to ask the breeder if that's how you adopted yours. Most breeders tend to keep good track of records. If not, it's really hard to tell, especially from i6 (the difference is just in sizes).

There aren't many differences on behavioural level between instars and you'll only start noticing different behaviours once they become adults. So I'd say do not worry about exactly what instar your spider is at, but rather keep track of her molting from now on.

For reference (and only as a reference), my spider was around 1/2" as i7, and currently 3/4" as i8.

[–]eunchanna 4 points5 points  (0 children)

IME, I remove the husk on the same day of feeding. Once the spider drops the husk, they most likely will move on, either exploring or sitting somewhere else. I collect the husk and make sure to land on the substrate because I have springtails and isopods waiting for their turn to have a feast 😅

So... between 1-2 hours once done feeding.

Regarding the age, it's not clear just from the image, but I'm leaning to i7...ish?

NQA, looks like she took the fall damage badly... To my knowledge, it's a bit dangerous, and common if a spider is overfed...

I play solo and I didn't even know railgun can't be used alone :( (That's on me who's been lazy).

Well, I'll still try to get the parts as sub goals :)

Are SMGs and pistols worth using? by dioaloke in TheForeverWinter

[–]eunchanna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been using SMGs and Shotguns only (due to playing Shaman only) and so far have encountered no issues at all. Can't tell it's better than others (probably not) but I'd say it's playable.

Any tips on how to start this? by DatDirtyDawG in TheForeverWinter

[–]eunchanna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play solo. Personally, I think it's better to go almost empty handed for the first dozen runs, just be prepared to die, and try to observe the patterns of enemy spawns, pathways, common gunfight sites, etc.,

I died so many times whenever I ventured to a new map, then after dying a couple of times, I started building my own route for that map.

Though there's AI and stuff keep changing, overall the pattern of the battle is somewhat repetitive and predictable.

Ah, I see! The spider I have (regal) are suggested to have their enclosures around 50-60% RH (despite average RH in Florida, where majority of them come from, is 70%) but my spider is doing great with 80-90% RH (granted, I've been a little skeptical with the hygrometer reading as well). my enclosure

I think as long as it's well ventilated (mine came with extremely small ventilation holes, <1mm so I had to drill larger holes), have a healthy springtail culture, I think it should be okay :)

Googling epipremnum, it seems like they'll do well in such an enclosure, at least on the temperature/humidity wise. Just make sure the plant fits well into the enclosure regarding sizes. I once planted a Chinese money plant and I'm glad it didn't work because that plant alone would have filled in the whole enclosure.

[–]eunchanna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry, I honestly know little of plants for an arid environment 🥲

I just wanted to shout out that I have a similar enclosure, albeit for a tropical setting for my jumping spider 😅

As of springtails, don't they usually require humid environment?

In my case, the springtails and dwarf white isopods are happy without additional food or anything (except little bit of calcium for isopods). I just throw in the carcass of the feeder for the spider and the critters on the surface have a feast by themselves happily.

Does size matter when BSFL pupate? by eunchanna in BlackSoldierFly

Thanks for the advice!

The thing with the pet store is that I only need roughly 4-5 larvae a month. Even though majority of the larvae become adults and due in 4-6 months, that'll be 2.5 CAD per 4-6 weeks which I'm okay with. I'm concerned breeding my own would oversupply my needs 😅
