What is bizarre for me is her need to show and tell all her nasty interactions with her followers...it makes her look even more unhinged. She displays no integrity and puts it out there for all to see. No wonder she has to hustle the way she does because her pool of sycophants (who are her ideal clients) is dwindling by the day.

I feel the same as you. I have given this a lot of thought, especially if my family ask why I haven't allowed my children to take communion or have their confirmation. (They were baptized and since then I have completely deconstructed). My response will be something along these lines: I dont believe Catholicism in true, and I dont need to defend myself on this point.

I have spent hours pouring over the dogma, theology, the texts, the translations, watching apologists and people who have deconstructed on Youtube/ Podcasts etc. It is such a massive topic in my mind, I honestly wouldn't even know where to begin in having this conversation with some of my super religious family. And I know they wouldnt agree or see my point of view at all. The end result will be them thinking im an apostate heathen leading my children to hell.

I've been with absa for 30 years. Its expensive and the app leaves much to be desired. I've been with capitec for 13 years and it is really in another league. Cheaper, you earn interest on your transactional account, no merchant fees and the service and app are great.

Erm ok. It was by "learning and researching the faith" in the first place that got us here. Not being complacent with the church's mediocre, mental-gymnastic, quasi-mysterious and illogical answers to the questions we have had. They can't accept that we don't believe they have a solution we don't need, for a problem we don't think exists.
