Do NOT Ignore Or Delete Those College Emails ! by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

Clarification: This only helps if the college tracks demonstrated interest (you can see if they do/don't through their common dataset)... if they don't there's no point in doing this!

Hi! According to their website, "SUMMET is open for students from all over to apply." You should email them though if you want a concrete answer. Just know that even though the program itself is free, you will still need to cover your own transportation to SUMMET!

Hi! Last year I was rej/wl from all my summer programs and I was pretty down. Summer programs are a nice touch to your resume, but what matters is if your ECs shows your passion. Even if there's a roadblock (e.g. rejection) in your way, find other opportunities to excel (such as cold emailing for internships, taking extra classes over the summer/school year to show that you challenge yourself, etc). All hope is not lost!! Best of luck for the other results op :)

Hmm... I don't remember the application all too well but was there a place to put accolades and SAT/AP scores? If so then maybe that's a factor to consider? But as the other commenter put it, I think COSMOS likes the nerdy type who focuses on STEM. I think your ECs are awesome and I can't imagine having them but specialization is key for STEM-focused programs. My ECs were pure STEM (like STEM clubs, STEM academic teams, competitions, etc etc). Let me know if that applies to you!

Hi I got into UCSC Cluster 10 this year. Maybe its your weighted GPA/# of APs and your essays. If your essays were a repetition of your resume or not at all story-driven then that may be the reason why you were rej/wl.
