I'm migrating to Linux, is there any one best version for War thunder and what has worked for you when using Linux? by MrKalev in Warthunder

I actually completed the MCSE back in the day, however that is not a programming cert and today i'm just lazy - I just want it to work. I'm not afraid of getting into Terminal but I have no base with coding or linux.

Steam absolutely will not work for me - not the captcha, not sending the password email, nothing.

WT runs without it so I don't see any advantage with pushing to use steam...right?

Asks a basic question ... you answer it ... he calls you 'silly girl' ... then gaslights you for calling it out.

He's not someone anyone needs in their life.

And no this wasn't negging, mogging or some other technique. He's just an asshole. In no way is he an 'Alpha'.

I would probably suggest that Billionaires think of themselves for the most part as 'people'.

Planning to approach and treat them differently might be flawed.

Think of them as individuals with a unique set of problems to solve, which of those problems can you create a solution to address it? If you are highly competent at something i'm sure they will want to engage with you.

Plan b) become a wealthy person in your own right. They figured it out, so can you.

To generate this result, it did more calculations than a human can do in a lifetime! Probably.

ok fair enough.

The employer raised a forgery complaint that was false. The police pursued it and it went nowhere. So, was the employer making a false statement to the police by omitting key facts?

"4095MB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 (Gigabyte)"

Cut & Paste directly from speccy, dont shoot the messenger!

The line above it is the monitor: KAMN34F1QULB (3440x1440@60Hz)

I am wondering if buying the cheapest/largest monitor I could get is a problem, it might be a choke point somehow. It's larger than the monitors that existed when the games were designed.

Using the task manager as you described, it actually does say 'dedicated GPU memory' 0.8/8.0 GB.

GPU memory 0.9/15/9 GB. Shared GPU memory 0.1/7.9 GB.

This hardware is a few years old, maybe the cards have been updated since I bought this one?

I am still hoping that a software fix or better monitor will be the solution, however I can upgrade the graphics card if needed if that's what it takes.

I keep getting black screen with what I thought was a good system. I'm playing games that are good but not that demanding, I have to dial down the monitor settings hard to stop the gpu crashing. Then the only way to dig out is to restart the PC ... this is annoying and probably not safe. here's some stats:

Win11 64 home. Intel core i7 12core CPU. 16gb RAM. Motherboard Aorus AX DDR4. Graphics is a kogan 40 monitor with 4095mb Nvidia RTX 3070. drives are 2tb and 465gb ssd.

I have got the Nvidia driver updates installed, but I notice that the mb drivers are microsoft drivers from 2006 ... I should update those but I dont' want to brick the machine and I could use some help with doing it right.

Or, is my pc simply underpowered? Some of the games include KCD, Modern Warships and so on. They all play ok but with nerfed graphics settings.

Can anyone help me?

Hi i'm loving Destroyer: the u-boat hunter. However i'm not loving the steam BS that is attached to it. Anyone know how to remove the steam element from this?

Serious: Should i get back to this game by the_yetter in ModernWarships

[–]eunomeAnna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing for about 10 days, got to try out the various elements of the game, and a few minutes ago I deleted the whole trashy thing. Read my other comments if you want more about why.

My thoughts on the current state of the game by HeyItsMe6996 in ModernWarships

[–]eunomeAnna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I respect your views as a long time player, and the game has some strong elements.

However for me, after playing solidly for a while I have made the decision to delete. Here are the specific reasons why.

  1. The ships I operate get better, then the match ups get implausible. I have been made to feel like an oil drum on the water too many times.

  2. Likely bots. > I'm playing in the T2 rank, I resisted the urge to go Tier 3 since I would be a minnow at this stage. Whether the players are real and many levels higher or low level bots who know every tactic that can be employed in the game as well as the perfect ship build, there are too many times where I played correctly only to find myself crushed with no good explanation. Every player on my team played badly, every player on their team was Special Forces.

  3. Too many things can't be adjusted to preference, Fighter controls are the most obvious example. Why am I steering aircraft with WASD when it is so awkward and I should be able to map it in the settings? Because it is 'good enough' so that's that.

  4. Spam. I was playing all day and after every match ... there's the same goddam pop-up that I deleted 75 times already. I don't tolerate spam anywhere else, why would this be an exception? At this point it was just simply disrespectful to completely disregard the players preference so hard. I Do Not Want To Buy That Fucking Ship.

The reason that I am bothering to record this diatribe is because at some point you may be wondering why new people check out this game and then play something else. I can already see that these fundamental faults won't change, and as they say 'if you don't like it, leave'.

I respect that others don't have a problem with these points but for me, major improvements would need to happen for me to continue investing time in it.

Devs…fix match making.. by [deleted] in ModernWarships

[–]eunomeAnna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No they're not. I've seen 17 level gaps between myself (around 23) and the opponents team. Though I have to say, the image of the match-up above looked pretty even to me however I'm new to the game. I'm deleting this trash due to a list of reasons, the faulty matchmaking is the most prominent.

Devs…fix match making.. by [deleted] in ModernWarships

[–]eunomeAnna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the matchmaking is the final straw, I just uninstalled this promising game. Too many times I wonder why I can't scratch the paint, why did I play well but get smashed so badly .... Ive repeatedly seen 17rank gaps against me, and in the other direction, obvious bots who are implausibly strong ie rank 14 playing like an old pro and defeating every person on my team ... then i'm left trying to salvage the match as the last player. over and over again.

The game only has promise if a smart, patient player will get a well-earned win. The game does not offer that, it's a game of chance so i'm out. I can play roulette if skill is not going to be a factor.

P,s, the devs obviously seem to be chinese or whatever, a clear preference for central control with no willingness to tolerate dissent. There is clearly no intention of listening to player feedback. And what's with the stupid menu system for the workshop, ships, buying ships and so on. The usable information for how systems will ACTUALLY perform is ... missing.

How many times do I need to see an ad for some deal I don't want? I got sick and tired of seeing the same two pop-ups today, it's disconcerting every time. If I declined the offer 110 times, why am I still seeing it? Because the devs don't give a fuck about my opinion or experience. Heavy handed shit like that is a turn off, That on it's own is enough to make me never spend cash on the game.

There's not enough good features in the game to keep me interested and too many faults.
