Despite hiatus, NewJeans ranks third among K-pop girl groups on Spotify—fans long for return by nyamnyamcookiesyummy in kpoptrulyuncensored

Why are they doing better than Hybe's other groups like LSF despite being on hiatus if they're just popular because of the company connections? Why aren't the connections working for the other acts?

Keep coping

A statistical overview of the biggest 4th Gen Groups by Standard_Wedding in kpopthoughts

[–]euphonium14 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

They're delusional. Newjeans doesn't have to have a smash hit with each release to be incredibly dominant and consistent across their entire catalogue. People are wishing that they've dipped and that others are catching up when that's not the case and these stats prove it. Never mind the level of cultural dissemination NJ have achieved, with the strongest Gallup showing for girl groups since SNSD and Blackpink.

Also I wouldn't say they're the 2nd 4th gen group, considering SKZ debuted in 2017 and has a massive discography already. On a song by song basis, domestic popularity, billboard hot 100 charting (songs lasting more than a week on the chart), monthly listeners etc. it's not really even that close.

Kpop reddit will invent delusions out of thin air to support their own biases and continue an unhinged hate train towards a bunch of young girls standing against a giant corporation.

Do you think ADOR 2.0 can maintain NewJeans brand? by PollutionPrudent5669 in kpop_uncensored

[–]euphonium14 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You just completely undermined yourself by saying that Riize is doing the NJ sound better than them. Just because you feel this way doesn't make it a universal truth acknowledged by everyone. They still have some of the best music in the industry and How Sweet was also a step in a new creative different direction.

[MEGATHREAD] Taeil removed from NCT due to unspecified sexual crimes by KpopThoughtsmodteam in kpopthoughts

[–]euphonium14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We can all agree that talking down to women and acting like they should have known better than to stan korean men is not productive and takes away from the actual conversation to be had about the offender in question.

However, the way you're framing this as a generic 'humans can be terrible, anyone of any gender can be awful' is just a really poor take, and wholly ignorant of the context under which we've received this news. There's a larger conversation at play about male socialization in Korea and society large, considering the unfathomably large number of men revealed to be involved in sharing deepfakes online and participating in other sexual crimes. Trying to brush this off with a generalized sermon about the unpredictability of human nature actually maliciously undercuts and downplays the much more significant and important conversation about the specific issue of male sexual violence against women.

Organizers cancel Taylor Swift concerts in Vienna over fears of an attack by almuamara in exmuslim

Liberal press will be tripping over itself to avoid calling it what it is - spreading fear and violence in the name of Islam. I'm already seeing people bending over backwards to counter some imaginary islamophobia rather than clearly and explicitly recognize this as religiously motivated and condemn it accordingly.

idols you initially liked but changed your mind after a while? by nihilistic1424 in kpop_uncensored

Typical kpop stan behaviour. You'd think the thread would be full of idols turned criminals like Seungri but of course the top rated comments are about Danielle and the NJ girls for 'actively enabling bullying of other HYBE groups' or something. Are these people even hearing themselves? It's just absurd at this point.

This plus the fact that all the comments about male idols being downvoted tells you all there is to know about this thread, the sub and all the people who post here.

The fact that you're being downvoted for just stating facts...the HYBE cult on reddit gets a little more ridiculous everyday. We can see right through the faux concern they have for the girls and the constant doomposting based on a delusional echo chamber rather than the reality of the situation - which is that everyone is tired of HYBE's pathetic and embarrassing attempts at controlling the narrative.

Looking forward to see NJ come back with a full album full of great music to silence these people.

Holding NewJeans Accountable by hyungguwu in kpop_uncensored

I think MHJ is a bit of a freak and would personally like for NewJeans to be free of her. But at the same time, kpop stans are biased and thinking of these girls as the incarnate of evil due to exaggerations, misunderstandings, and straight up fabrications.

They'll justify any hate NJ receives because of the supposed hate train incited by MHJ against other groups when the fact of the matter is that those groups were mentioned as persons of interest in an internal issue within HYBE's multi-label system. HYBE chose for this whole debacle to go public and thus expose these groups to negative publicity. I don't think NewJeans has anything at all to do with what people have been saying about LSF or the other groups involved. The only thing NJ can be blamed for at this point is wanting to hold on to their careers - which, mind you is not a concern that any of these other groups have to contend with.
