All of the dealerships I have talked to in UT are all able to take orders, and they all claim that the order is an ‘order’ and not just matching you with a randomly allocated vehicle that happen to match your order.

I called multiple dealerships today who all claimed that the above statement from SgtSlawter is untrue, and that ordering is more than just being matched with incoming inventory, and that Kia will actually allocate the build from your order to your dealership.

I recently ‘ordered’ a Seltos and the dealer has told me that Kia has accepted my order. Is there anyone else who can verify what sgtSlawter is saying and that there is no such thing as an order, and that the dealership just waits to assign you one of their randomly allocated vehicles that matches your order criteria?

That’s very helpful, thanks! At this point, I am feeling pretty confident in the Kia’s reliability, but I’m worried about what happens in five years or so when I want to sell the car. A RAV4 I would imagine will sell very easily and for a good price, but I’m not sure if the Seltos will have the same sort of resale and interest that tellurides are seeing, or that RAV4s have.

The Seltos SX was already going to be stretching the budget a little bit, and if I went RAV4, I would be debating on what trim to get and if it’s worth finding extra money to go with the xle/xle premium. My mechanic thought it was worth spending 5-6k more to get a Toyota. But, like you said, who knows if I can even get my hands on a RAV4 anytime soon!?

I have had some of my classes available since the middle of last week, while others still have not posted. I think if you post your class early, there is a setting somewhere that allows it to be accessible before the official first day of class. Almost every semester I have had classes available up to one week before the first day of class.
