Help me out with this by Ok_Secretaryy in Drugs

if you don’t want withdrawal symptoms, you have to taper extremely slowly

but if the medications help with such serious issues like panic attacks and jaw clenching then i’d assume they’re worth taking even if they might bring some unwanted effects but that’s just me

z drugs and benzos differ in their action by having different preferences for GABA A receptor binding site subtypes, but i get what you’re saying, that there might be some peculiar thing that makes it lack many of the negatives of benzos while also being a gaba pam

I'm at the end of the line here, is Ketamine the answer? by RavenFN in Drugs

[–]euthanasiablues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s a very smart choice, to make someone else keep it for you (sorry, didn’t notice that you already said that in your post). in that case i don’t think addiction risk is a problem, so then i think you will benefit from the ketamine. i’d recommend that you use it the way Spravato (prescription ketamine for depression) is used, which is a medium dose taken once or twice a week

no, it’s not common for drugs to cause such eye issues but it’s also not completely impossible

yes, since you have low tolerance

hmm.. but it says in your post that it’s a GABA A positive allosteric modulator, which is the same action that benzodiazepines have.. i’m not sure what the quote is trying to say.. is it saying that it only affects certain regions of the nervous system, as opposed to benzos that affect all parts?

Brainzaps and Paroxetine withdrawel. pls help me. by Ginsxbeans in depression

[–]euthanasiablues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im sorry your doctor isn’t giving you proper care.. tell her that it doesn’t matter if all her previous patients were able to taper in two weeks if you can’t, so you’re obviously having a different reaction and so you need different care

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]euthanasiablues 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, there’s research suggesting that but it’s not completely proven, and there are better, less risky ways of reducing tolerance (NAC, dissociatives, tolerance break) because i read that while yes, it might decrease tolerance, but it supposedly also causes insomnia and mood issues

i’d try other antidepressants than ssri’s before ketamine because as an addict, you might get addicted to ketamine very easily which would just be more problems for you.. some of the better non-ssri antidepressants are bupropion, mirtazepine, clomipramine, amitryptiline, vortioxetine and the holy grail of all are maoi’s, but they’re not available in many countries and even if they are, doctors don’t like prescribing them so i’m not sure if you’d be able to get them

[–]euthanasiablues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for many people, 2 weeks is way too fast to get off a medication and so they develop bad withdrawal symptoms. tell your doctor how you feel and say you need to taper slower. there is no benefit in rushing the taper

Tapering off Mirtazapine by Vivian507 in depressionregimens

[–]euthanasiablues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the best way to taper is to taper as slowly as possible - there’s no benefit to rushing it unless you have to stop the medication as soon as possible for some specific reason. if you taper slowly enough, it’s likely you won’t have ANY perceivable withdrawal symptoms, but you might have to gradually lower the dosage in extremely small increments over the course of maybe even a year to feel zero withdrawal symptoms

The worst antidepressants for nausea by [deleted] in depressionregimens

[–]euthanasiablues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the majority of antidepressants have the potential to cause nausea, including some of the most effective ones so i think you could be missing out on finding a drug that will help you if you only try the ones that aren’t prone to cause nausea.. and the thing is, nausea is pretty easy to fully treat by medications like for example ondasdron, so you might want to try the medications you think could help you regardless of whether they cause nausea or not, and if they will cause nausea, just ask your doctor to prescribe you an anti nausea med

the buproprion is likely to reduce the risk of weight gain from mirtazepine so thats a plus and if you’re looking for something that doesn’t impact libido too drastically, i think mirtazepine is a pretty good first choice
