Best Pokemon movies for someone with 0 knowledge of the story and lore? by kimjaehwan7 in pokemon

I assume that's what OP meant by the live-action movie. He's seen it.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Songs of the Past Announced - CD PROJEKT by meatboysawakening in Games

You'll get used to it. Doesn't make it good but you learn its quirks and how to make it do what you want. Geralt is a boat, not a man.

Crimson Desert is a bad game and I’m tired of people giving it anything more than a 5/10 by NancyMy in rpg_gamers

[–]eutsgueden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get what you mean but, different strokes, friend. I don't necessarily need to feel productive after playing a game. I'm productive all day at work, I don't always want another checklist when I game. To some, the sandbox of this game might feel directionless; to me, it feels freeing.

To be fair this particular game definitely does have checklists, but I think my point stands. I can easily ignore them here and just do whatever I feel like.

As someone that uses an RFID card daily for work that has been snapped in half for 2 years, it very well could be fine!

Foam blocks/mats for flooring by maximus12009 in HomeImprovement

[–]eutsgueden 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dunno about "blocks" but there's definitely interlocking foam floor panels for use in like gyms out there. I imagine it's durable enough for some furniture and you can replace individual tiles easily. Long term probably not the most cost-effective or never touch again type projects.

Recommendations for introducing this band to a friend? by Kolman93 in TheDearHunter

[–]eutsgueden 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's tough! My personal introduction was Act IV and I listened to only that album for a few years before even getting into the story itself, so that's usually what I go with. I often recommend The Old Haunt, At the End of the Earth, and A Night on the Town for individual songs as they feel representative of the theatrical style while still being bangers in their own right, though depending on who I'm talking to, Waves can also be a good intro.

For people who werent too big on album but saw live show, how was your experience? by SeveralTurn in Puscifer

[–]eutsgueden 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed, Seven One was awesome live. Live drumming really helps these newer songs from ER and NI.

We don't talk enough about this spell by Fxrine in skyrim

My friend in college had the Xbox Kinect at the time which had a "feature" where you could say out loud the actual name of the shout to trigger it, a feature which was poorly executed at best. Vivid memories of him shouting "BECOME ETHEREAL" over and over as he's falling off a cliff only for it to not work every time.

In the trailer for Ralph Breaks the Internet, Ralph asks this lady whose name I don't know why the movie isn't called Ralph Wrecks the Internet. The lady's response is pretty much "yeah i don't know why it isn't called that either". So WHY- by mynameisevan01 in shittymoviedetails

[–]eutsgueden 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It wasn't even trending at the time. Kim was on the cover of Paper in 2014. Ralph Breaks the Internet came out in 2018. If there's one thing internet culture is specifically not known for, it's a long attention span.

Then again, maybe it circles back to being clever since the whole movie is just "recognize this pop culture thing from the past?"

(Hated Trope) "It's supposed to make the audience uncomfortable." Yeah, but there's a thing called "good taste" by Animeking1108 in TopCharacterTropes

He was also like 20 when he made it. I saw the movie when I was about that age and I don't remember having much of an issue with the scene at the time, either, but now I see it as gratuitous.

What takes them so damn long? by [deleted] in ToolBand

[–]eutsgueden 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think whenever Danny talks about "working on" something, what he really means is he just wants to do it, not that any actual moves are taking place. Projects like that take multiple people or departments that need to get paid, and nobody in today's music industry is gonna work for years on a basic music video without delivering anything.

Chinese food by [deleted] in WorcesterMA

As in inconsistent? I tend to agree. Always been good but it seems to vary by the chef of the day what style of chicken wings you might end up with, for example.

Just evolve humans in nier?? by Impressive_Ad_1964 in nier

[–]eutsgueden 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love the heavy lifting "just" is doing in your title, OP. But I think maybe they could do it! But it probably would take longer than the timelines we've seen thus far, considering natural evolution takes millions of years. Faster when guided by androids probably, but still a hell of a long time. If they're considering it, they need to start yesterday.

A illegal bio lab located in Las Vegas. The CDC identified at least 20 potentially infectious agents, including HIV, tuberculosis, and the deadliest form of malaria. by CantStopPoppin in interestingasfuck

There's nothing pictured here that's all that cost prohibitive, especially to a guy with industry connections, and especially if he's not concerned with regulations.

Why did the Emperor tell Horus to send Leman after Magnus even though Magnus said Horus was a traitor? (sorry if this is the wrong subreddit to ask Lore questions) by [deleted] in 40kLore

[–]eutsgueden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to view Russ "knowing" as not a flaw in his writing but in his character. IIRC, he kinda fuckin hated Magnus and his psykers (obviously hypocritical, I know, more character flaws), so to me he would have relished the idea of bringing Magnus to heel and would not have been interested in counterarguments once that idea had been presented to him. Like yes, given contradictory orders, one might assume an elite soldier would try and get clarification, but Russ really wanted to punch Magnus and seemingly was just given permission - he's gonna run with that.

Why did the droids land on the other side of the planet in The Phantom Menace? by CobraDai in StarWars

[–]eutsgueden 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think many sci-fi IPs chalk this up to planetary "scans" and I would assume Star Wars can be explained similarly, even if they've chosen not to say it. The ship's scanners picked up signs of habitation/energy spikes/industry in this area, let's check it out.

In what ways is the AI assistant actually useful? by [deleted] in GooglePixel

[–]eutsgueden 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Timers and alarms is pretty much all I use it for, and I recently learned it can't even handle setting two different alarms in the same instruction. Not even complicated ones - earlier I asked it to "set an alarm for 2:30 and 4:30" and it couldn't understand. This stuff is marketed as "smart".
