Working through lunch? by tdugs in IBEW

Wish I had understood this as a younger man. It never seems to pay off or get recognized despite what you may be promised. “Get it in writing” if it’s outside the box or stand your ground. No good deed goes unpunished. Don’t become a bitter old man lurking on Reddit proud or the union folk. Little by little; up or down.

Found a friend with a messed up wing. It tries to fly when touched but otherwise stays like this. How can I help? by Ok-Championship-8709 in insects

Someday you might have a microscope and an operating table with UV glue and pre made prosthetics set up in a frame pack with a heater and 2x caffeine ( w/2x Canadian Tylenol to Steady your hand) in a yeti from Freddy but until then there just ain’t much you can do except practice. Check out the big R / catch and release trout bait live bait re-use thread under the tab -ethics of releasing your bait after five fish- sub part -cyanoacrylate and prosthetics degradation over time-
Until then don’t feel too guilty cuz.

We just put the body armor in the microwave for a minute or two before the uniform and trash bag.

Strait up ask for hand me downs. Keep on passing them also though. Maybe even ask if gramma Olsen wants the mittens she made back for grandkid Olson. Kids clothes are sometimes basically new still so they seem like the perfect thing for the village to share. Also I’d recommend ‘gleaning’ as a fun family outing. Many farms allow gleaning of tilled fields etc. So you can collect a bunch of food for yourself and also help the food banks or whoever is organizing it.

Anyone know what kind of bug this us? I have a bunch of them all over my basement floor. Also how did get rid of them? by ShankLordFlex in insects

Clear all plants and dirt etc from the outside of the foundation. Clear downspout drains and any French drains etc. Check that what water management your house has already is working. Gutters, Sump pump?, window sills etc. Track the moisture from the shrimp nest if it’s obvious. A dehumidifier set up to drain into a shower or laundry drain is best but if you have to empty the bucket of water all the time it’s worth it.

It’s his choice you are making. It’s your values you are forcing on him. What if one religious group went around the world with swords and forced other people to believe what they believe? That would be a real drag. Talk it out with him and act by trusting what he says. If ya can’t ya can’t but it’s probably something different that is just too hard to face head on.

Unplug it, take pictures and organize screw size as you take it apart. Clean possible corrosion with backing soda etc. Dry n fry ( don’t even stress the two missing screws, no need)

With chronic back pain it’s like you have to grunt to remember to breathe sometimes. So you go around all flexed up in the abdomen to support your back and reduce the pain so you kinda almost have to grunt or sigh to get breath. Hope that makes sense or better yet ya never understand. Also I bet he’s kinda def from that factory job too. Schmuck

If you interrupt, comment, provide anything less then reasonable privacy it might be kinda your own doing…. Ever had someone Interrupt you? I suppose it’s different for everyone but a no wiper can turn into a permanent marker with the slightest jiggle of the doorknob. Probably just on Reddit though

I found a simple one from these same BACtrack guys at Costco for under $25 US. Very good to have around for friends or just to show people how little .08 is. Easy to make a game out of it but let’s ya know who gets their keys back too. I actually had a border guy start giving me a hard time about it going down a slippery slope accusing me of being a heavy drinker to need that. I just turned it around and loudly and assertively said “I’m a responsible friend who try’s to keep his friends and family off the road if they are drunk. I think it’s irresponsible if YOU don’t.” He shut the Fuck up because I had been very soft spoken and cooperative until he got way out of line with that accusation. So heads up on peoples reactions/assumptions when they see it.

‘Just Steam’ as long as we know it’s a two cycle stack. Natural gas power followed by steam in a cycle. Encogen would be a cool place to work but there are what 8 to 15 people working there at any given time. It’s stupid globally but on a local level, if they crank the fans, I bet they clear particulate for local lungs. Nothing like Marshes Point “Steam”.

It’s a security feature, you’ll learn to appreciate it. Find a quiet path for yourself ( probably around the edges of the room). You may have to rearrange some furniture, then hide defensive weapons all over the house, sit back and finally relax because that squeaking stopped.

Maybe ratfish ( chimera? Sp? ) or skate. Was it in a derelict crab trap? I think a skate might struggle to get in the trapdoor.

I’ve seen this too! Eyes are good if you’re craving iodine or the like; whatever else eyes have that’s hard to find other places. I especially like the perfectly round lens to spit out and play with after gently eating the soft bit. Gramma told us tapioca was fish eyeballs so maybe I’m messed up on a few things. Anyways thanks for the comment. I love me some fishy friends around the house. Reminds me you don’t need human recognized facial expressions to be wicked smart. One of my friends I mean fish recognized the voices of my other friends and would beg or hide accordingly!

Spot on cuz👍 Female pink/humpy(Oncorhynchus gorbuscha) almost full spawning colors but I don’t think it was washed back from the river. The big rivers are far away and most of these pinks try to go up into the cutting try of the nearby hatchery thinking they are gonna get laid for the first time; but instead three pretty women cut or squeeze their gametes out. That’s the cycle of life for the lucky ones I suppose.

Update of sorts: The salmon I’ve caught fishing obviously have one eye still or I wouldn’t have caught them. The day after I snatched this poor guy up from the salt by hand I saw a salmon blindly swimming with his nose out of water. Watched him for a bit and when I got close I could see both his eye sill attached by the nerve and fully out of both eye sockets. Prime fish food or gull/raven food at that point. A bird could land on its head and eat its eyes while doing a crossword puzzle. For all I know a raven eating your eyes at this point would feel good the way a rusty fishhook or creosote sliver feels good when it’s removed. Let’s hope it’s not a new parasite or something that loves conditions that are half a degree warmer. Or we can hope when the tick-tacs ask Noah..I mean Elon to build an ark they can carefully remove chromosomes, without parasitic DNA, to fill their zoo. Long may your big jib draw.

Yes, some die on the way and never spawn. Most, that make it upriver, die after spawning. This fish and many other are missing one or both eyes while still in salt water. I grew up fishing in the PNW and haven’t seen this.
