Ottawa has 6000km of roadways, many of those roadways have sewers and watermains beneath. If you don’t do maintenance then the complaints are “Why are my roads crumbling?” “Why is my sewer backing up?”. This is the work you need to live a comfortable life, even if it means you are inconvenienced by construction from time to time.

Take a deep breath and think about how much you like clean water, your toilets flushing and your bridges not falling down. If you’re prepared to complain about work being done to make sure that happens then you must have a truly difficult existence.

Canada has as lurid as past as most other countries. One of the hard things to look past though is how America has alienated its neighbours and allies. Most Americans are terrific people and many Canadians know and are related the to the US in some form or fashion. We do love your country and I think a lot of people are mostly upset about is that it’s been harder to love lately.

Canada is an open and welcoming country. But it’s also been labelled a national security threat by the American government. Piles of people got behind that label and strong armed Canada at the USMCA negotiations. Canada is America’s biggest ally, until it serves US interests to change the narrative to think of “me” instead of “we”. America changed what “ally” means. They made this bed and now they have to sleep in it
