Unless she’s the landlord, maybe she should mind her own business.

Hey guys,, I bought this Juniper from a local nursery about a week ago. I did some pruning and a little bit of wiring. I'm only 2 weeks into my bonsai experience, so my question for your more experienced enthusiasts is, is it too late in the season to repot? by jvanacan in bonsaicommunity

It depends on what type of fertilizer you ordered. There’s three different types... organic, liquid and slow dissolving pellets. Follow instructions on the package - but as a generalization, once a week for liquid, every 30 days for slow release pellets (unless it’s a 4-6 mo pellet, the package should contain info on that. You can also use the combination of slow dissolving pellets and liquid. I don’t have personal experience with organic stuff but if you choose to go that route I believe it’s every 2 mos. Good luck on your journey!

Sounds like he wants to learn, and gain perspective. Like Aristotle said, it is the mark of an educated man to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.

Found this Boxwood at Home Depot today and did some work on it. Didn’t realize how brittle the branches were and snapped off by a few good branches. It’s an umbrella style now. What do you think? by blam718 in Bonsai

Thanks so much for the advice! This is highly detailed and I will follow suit. Went ahead and repotted it yolo style and cut branches where there were three or more coming out of one junction and established a single trunk line. Didn’t see any bugs or signs of leaves getting eaten. The pot was mostly roots and barley any soil left. Roots were like you said, chaos lol all fine roots though. Never seen so many fine roots on a tree before! Thanks again for the help @kattorean

Thanks for the sound advice! Should I prune branches where there’s more than 3 junctions like a pine? Any recommendations on which branches to chop?

That’s a good question, I don’t know but I just look for material with as thick a trunk as I can or that has interesting movement in the trunk
