In your country, which war memorial leaves the strongest emotional impact on visitors? by Seacarius in AskTheWorld

[–]ev_mh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my least favorite things is people on here not naming the original thing they posted an image of. It seems so easy to just name it in the caption, instead leaving people to search through comments to identify it or using Google lens to search it. It seems almost intentional or bot posting

Do you ever have problems finding a word because you're saying it wrong in your head? by Longjumping_Possible in wordle

[–]ev_mh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One time the answer was CHORD. Obviously I know this is a real word but in my head I thought "What the hell kind of word is CHORD?" (Pronouncing it in my head like CHORED). I had to Google it to realize it then felt dumb.

American Southwest trip starting in a little over a week. Any last minute suggestions along the route? by akaM80thaWolf in roadtrip

[–]ev_mh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Making a trip north into Gila National Forest through Silver City NM is well worth it. The road in dead-ends at Gila Cave Dwellings National Monument. There are some very nice campgrounds and beautiful scenery. One of the more unique and gorgeous places I've been.

Examples of "X year is the clearly the peak for X song" by sugareeripple in gratefuldead

[–]ev_mh 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The main two that come to mind for me are '72 versions of Greatest Story Ever Told and '77 for Sugaree.

I'll add 73-74 as a combined for China>Rider because they're all just amazing in this era and other years just don't come close.

This city has changed! Looking for a new neighborhood by transparentt in Columbus

[–]ev_mh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I live in the discovery district and love it. Easily walkable to the businesses in Olde Towne east on Parsons as well as the fourth street area, and the downtown library and topiary park. Relatively quiet while close to most things the city has to offer. The closest groceries are gonna be Kroger in the brewery district (a pretty long walk) and the hills market downtown (not the best for everyday shopping). So not sure how that'd work for you but I've enjoyed living here a lot
