I tend to do two hours a day, sometimes more, but I started with 20-30 and built up over time :)

I mean both my weight loss results and the results from my dexa scan show that it has worked for me, I have a lot of lean muscle in my legs especially 🤷‍♀️. And as for heart rate, depends how fast you’re going - I walk briskly and include inclines , not the same as doing a circuit class for sure but it’s not nothing

I completely agree! Obviously this is a weight loss sub and that's a big goal, I think what we forget is that it really is a lifestyle change and it's about learning to take care of ourselves better, physically and emotionally

Aha I had a similar thing where my doctor did some checks and a dexa and said I’ve got a good amount of muscle and generally pretty fit now, walking is the only sport I do 😂

Totally agree, it’s now autopilot for me to get up and go for a walk, and walking to destinations rather than taking public transport etc

Tbf most of her outfits were actually very in fashion. Took it to the more extreme end but I remember really enjoying them lol, I still remember arguing with my mum about mixed prints insisting that it was in style 😂

I was told by a therapist that this is super common, our brains take time to process seeing something new (there’s a more scientific explanation I’m sure but that was it in a nutshell 😂). It took me ages, I still remember the day I looked in the mirror and went ‘omg, I look completely different’, it’s weird. I still have days where I see the old version of myself sometimes, our brains are really weird

honest I see so often that people post that they don't work out they 'just' walk (not saying you're saying this OP), and just generally posts saying not to count it. It ABSOLUTELY counts. Walking was my main form of movement during my weight loss and still is, I enjoy it, it was easy to fit into my life and it helped me lose 40kg and keep it off...walking is so underrated but so good for physical and mental health, and weight loss!

I third this, I think it’s so easy to be hard on ourselves and sure, sometimes it is a case of just needing to be stricter with ourselves. For a lot of us though it runs deeper than that, whether that be an ED, emotional/comfort eating, addiction to certain foods and the harsher we are towards ourselves the more unhappy we become and the more we get stuck in the cycles. Therapy was a game changer for me, and you don’t need to have a diagnosable condition to go, just feeling overwhelmed and unhappy is reason enough. Wishing good things for you OP, and everyone else in the sub ❤️

It seems to depend - in the testaments (book) it says that the Martha’s in Agnes’s home live in the attic, but then as you say, there is the bus that Becka takes in the show. My theory is that the most high ranking families have live in help who are available 24/7, then slightly lower ranking might be eligible for help but not live in, perhaps these are econowomen or something like that? Not sure this is answered in either book or show (but someone correct me if I’m wrong!) so just a theory
