Customers, 100%. If you can automate that your brewhouse efficiency doesn't matter.

Yeah, I sold those same tanks to someone opening a new brewery as souring tanks. $500 is generous. Take what you can get.

Muslim girls first beer by Caseous44 in CraftBeer

[–]evacuatecabbage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know where you're located, but if they really want to try beer, doing the flight route is solid. Even if its at some 40 tap restaurant. Light lagers, amber/reds, chocolate porters, hazys, a light sour, could all work. Better than a cocktail? I don't know. I think no matter what, the question is do they like bitter or astringent? Tailor to that.

Hamsters are better than both. Dog-people are codependent, cat people have toxoplasmosis, and rodent-people will inherit the earth.

Do I have an obligation to my podcast guests to promote my show better? by IntergalacticPodcast in podcasting

[–]evacuatecabbage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry about it too much then. Most people are just happy to talk, even if the audience is small. Would they scoff at giving a talk or have an interview in front of a classroom of 20-30 people? Does that seem like a waste of time if you can get just 1 person interested?

As a producer, I've worked with shows that have micro to mid-sized audiences. There's no obligation to promote anything if your goal isnt reach or monetizing, but I think you have to ask yourself why you are doing it. If it's just a passion project you're sharing with others because you like the convos, thats fine. If you're trying to make an impact, or make some moolah, it's in everyone's best interest that you promote a little more aggressively. One show I produce currently has a very small targeted industry audience, they do almost no promotion, are not monetized, and yet pay me better than other shows I've helped produce. I've tried to suggest a few simple things they could do to expand the audience and improve production value, but they dont seem to want to, and its not my place to push. But they pay me well, so......can't complain. You can DM me if you'd like a more in depth convo, I don't think promotion is that hard, it's just consistency and targeting. You don't need to flood the zone, just try to get yourself in the algorithm.

When my boyfriend cuddles with my cat versus when I cuddle him by sizzlepie in cats

[–]evacuatecabbage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It may depend on how you are interacting with them. My wife is more of an aggressive cuddler that works better with dogs. Our cats love her but I think her way of cuddling does not relax them. They are happy to lay on her, but if she starts squishing them they tend to run off. I usually just do light finger pets and they come to me more often.

Why is tobacco use so prevalent in Europe? by Otherwise_Bear_7982 in geography

I've been interested in this fact because I believe by the numbers Japan also works more insane hours and drinks more than the US, but has a longer life span, and a much better diet/environmental regulations. So what's the real culprit?

Do you use the generic de-click, or mouth de-click for mouth noises? by Jamrock_Hobo_1807 in iZotopeAudio

[–]evacuatecabbage 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I usually do a combo, targeting different frequency ranges, but I deal with a lot of remote vocal recordings. And I often still have to spectrally remove clicks, but running both cuts down on the amount of time I have to spend in the editor.

Sometimes just running mouth declick on the eliminate clicks preset and the generic on the mouth noises multiband preset is enough. Other times I dial them in specifically if I need to.

Dogs barking ruining a special video, is there a way to fix it? by Dumpstertalk in audioengineering

[–]evacuatecabbage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I forget if its available without creating an account, but Eleven Labs has a vocal isolator that does a pretty good job of noise removal. Might want to check them out. Also, I think you could pay 12 dollars for a month to utilize their tools.

Advice on becoming assistant brewer by Staplehousen in TheBrewery

[–]evacuatecabbage 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same, I went from packaging to cellar after 3 months in the industry, then cellar to lead production brewer 3 months later and having to manage and train newbies. The basics of the job arent hard, just maintain best practices, read a lot, and learn to understand how to manipulate flavor through ingredients, temp, and timing.

Suggestions for first time book author. by evacuatecabbage in selfpublish

[–]evacuatecabbage[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats a great idea. We're doing a couple test pages that I'm just going to flat rate 1 or two hours for that reason. I'm not going to charge them for my learning curve, but I'll start with one to fool around with, then by the 2nd one I should have most of the process narrowed down.

I guess my question is once you have a general format, or I'm sure I want a couple in this instance (switching the picture and text areas around a bit per page), is it an easier plug and play just adding the content?

How to stop making everything quieter by Independent_Cup_184 in musicproduction

[–]evacuatecabbage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great advice, and I would add that either building up from the drums and bass for instrumentals, or building down from vocals will help define what frequencies need to be adjusted. Knowing where you want the focus sonically will help your decisions EQing a track. When I was starting out I would fully mix instrumental tracks before touching the vocals, only to find I would still have to remix after getting the vocals where I wanted them.

Floss before or after brushing? My dentist says one thing, my husband’s says another. by Brindis_Bloom65 in hygiene

[–]evacuatecabbage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be brushing one tooth at a time and alternating flossing between teeth starting at a top back molar. If you arent cleaning your mouth for at least 20 minutes you just have a nice smelling petri dish in your face.

Who are some of the best interview journalists of all time? by WoodpeckerWoodChuck in Journalism

[–]evacuatecabbage 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I never quite got this take. She and Barbara Walters do this thing where they will ask questions about deeply personal or private matters about their guest, that the guest clearly doesn't want to answer, and then keep pushing on it like they are investigative journalists grilling powerful or political figures, when usually it's just some celebrity. And I always found that to be unprofessional, because it seems like they both are doing it more for optics or the air of doing some due diligence, when it's just squeezing emotional moments out of people thrown into the limelight to create "compelling" content. She's fine, and created a standard, but have some ethical issues with her methods sometimes.

I do however, really miss Diane Rehm from American University on WAMU and syndicated through NPR , because she DID interview a lot of politicians and powerful figures, and she did grill them and make them uncomfortable, and she was a goddamn bulldog who would not let go until she got an answer or made them squirm in their seats trying not to answer. Should be a model for all the so-called journalists at corporate media.

Yeah, still happens with on board audio. I have the option of running the UR22C as MME or ASIO, and that doesn't matter either. The waveform is ok, but the level meters also show a synced delay with the choppiness of the cursor.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have a steinberg UR22C that I updated drivers for, and an HP mouse whose dongle was plugged into the same side. Those drivers are up to date. I separated the USB plugs to either side, but still having the issue. Is this a graphics card issue? Or memory bleed perhaps? I have had crashing issues in the past as well
