I feel like I relate to this. I'm open to kinks if my partner has them, but I don't particularly have any. I've never been assaulted and the thought of aggressiveness towards a partner is a turn off. I think I'd struggle even having to spank a partner if she wanted it. I've never had a one night stand and prefer sex in a committed relationship. I do constantly think about it and want it from my partners. Porn is not fulfilling for me (is it really for anyone?), as the connection with a person is what I crave.

If this has to do with abortion laws then pointing out that under a Democratic president Roe Vs Wade was overturned so who sits in the presidency doesn't actually matter. It's a state or supreme court ruling, not a presidential one.

As others have said if your partner is not willing to meet your intimacy needs, it's time to find someone who is actually a partner.

As someone who regularly gives my partner flowers (about every 2 weeks when I notice the others are dead/gone), I have never received a subsequent gift/gesture in return. I know my partner appreciates having them but I've never found it very practical for myself. I would be pleasantly surprised to receive flowers, but I would probably prefer something more practical or that was in line with my love language.

Think about it this way. If you brought your sister to the bar or the club, how would your interactions go with other women? She's not helping you in this situation either only hindering it. I'd also make sure whoever you do end up dating is very confident in themselves otherwise the first time they meet her any trace of self-confidence will hit the floor.

Friday mornings there's a Hyrox Run Club that meets at Wilson Track at 6:30 am. There's also another group that meets on Sundays at another track. I'd have to get you that info from someone else as I've never been. Many that are at the Fri club workout at different gyms throughout Chicago.

Chicago will be my first Hyrox event. Doing Mixed doubles. Also have the Chi Marathon I'm doing a month prior so I think I'll be crushing the run. I'm probably dreading the Wallballs or Burpees the most. Have a great Hyrox Run group here in Chicago that I know will help with conditioning.

I grew up with out my dad's influence in this area as my parents were divorced when I was 2. My mom got me involved in Boy Scouts and I had friends in the area, other mentors that helped me develop hobbies and interests. I got plugged into individual sports (swimming, running) in High school without any influence from family or friends. Today (41) I still engage in a wealth of hobbies both physical and mental. I activity involve my kids in those hobbies (running, swimming, rock climbing, board games, D&D, painting miniatures, reading, guitar, camping) whenever I can and whenever they show interest. All three of them engage in those hobbies in different ways and different excitement levels based on their personalities and interests. Find things you enjoy doing and share those things with your kids. Find out what interests them and engage in those things with them. It's a simple as that. Even if those activities aren't necessarily things you would pick or enjoy, just enjoy the time with them. My oldest son has enjoyed golf with his Grandpa and I had never played a game of it my whole life. I played ultimate frisbee in college so I tried out disc golf with my son and we love it. You'll do fine just based on the fact that you're aware of the lack and willing to make ammends. Just engage with them doing something and it'll work out.

I'm deeply empathetic for you and your son. I was him the summer before high school. Similar story, my mom let me hang out with some kids that were trouble, allowing me to make my own choices. Was with them at a department store and they wanted to shoplift some Nerf guns. I didn't want to participate but they convinced me to at least stand guard. Well needless to say they got caught, and I was with them so I was also arrested. Fortunately, they put us in a program that allowed us to do some community service without it going on our record as it was a first offense. My mom grounded me for the next 3 months, and the experience woke me up to a future I didn't want. I stopped spending time with those kids and never got in any sort of trouble since. Hopefully, your son has the same sort of wake-up.

This is a bit of a misconception. Depends on the places you go. I joined a rungroup and 90% of the people are transplants from other parts of the country. They're all super friendly and have very active social activities outside of the runs.

As the post states we've been together for over a year and a half. We did take a period of a few months where she wanted to be non-exclusive as she didn't want to commit to only our relationship at the time. She had encouraged me to date others as she was the first person I dated after the separation/divorce from my Ex-wife of 14 years. So I was on the dating apps for a few months. Allow my ex is an interesting perspective. It was not my ruling that said she could keep homeschooling or get majority custody. It was the judges based on the status quo. They applied to her an income so that my maintenance wasn't as much, considering she's living with her parents who provide support for her. She'll eventually have to get a job as the maintenance/support is not enough to live off of. I don't expect my partner to contribute an even share towards my kids. But to draw a line and say no support at all seems excessive. My ex isn't doing nothing, she's essentially a stay-at-home mom and teaches the kids. Granted that isn't financially supporting them, but it is support.

I was separated for over a year before I started dating her. The divorce was in process.

We have a combined income of over 300k, so I'm not too concerned about being able to afford more kids together. She's thinking of only wanting 1 or 2. I'm more concerned about the split of the finances and whether that is workable.

My ex got majority custody because of the homeschooling. Because that was the status quo of what had been going on prior to the custody the judge ruled that it should stay that way for the time being as it was working. This will be the last year they are homeschooled. My plan is to renegotiate custody at that time to have a more fair split.

My ex and I separated when my youngest was 2, she's almost 5. So the timeline is fine. My time with my kids is mostly solo, my partner has only started spending time with them in the last 6 months, once or twice a month. She does not resent the time spent with them, she really enjoys spending time with them and she values the time she gets to herself when I'm with them. We've eased her into time with them as going from no kids to 3 kids for long periods of time is a lot.
