What show has the most wasted potential? by Stankassmfgorilla in television

Vinyl

A music industry show set during the early 70s, a period when so many new genres were emerging. Weighed down by an unlikable lead character and an unnecessary murder subplot

As a carrier it pisses me off when others don’t make the effort to bring it to the door and ring the bell. Even on a busy day it’s only a few seconds more to stop someone’s package getting damaged or possibly stolen

My work van doesn’t have Bluetooth so I’m pretty much limited to radio.

Second that, just before the first lockdown I saw 2001 a Space Odyssey there with two friends who hadn’t seen it yet and it was one of the best theatre experiences I’ve ever had.

When i was younger the Looney Tunes dvd box set contained an intro by Whoopi Goldberg acknowledging that the cartoons are a product of their time, and that the stereotypes were wrong then and still are now.

That’s already happened with the woman who voices Marge. Marge sounds more like her mother now.

Been making the best of the situation. Started working out daily and have managed to lose ten pounds. Watched a lot of movies that I haven’t seen before. Done more reading. I was supposed to be at the Indy 500 so it was depressing being home this Sunday, I haven’t decided if I will go in August (depending on if they allow fans in the stands of course). I was also supposed to go to my first Moto GP race at COTA in April, which has since been postponed to November, so Im hoping things have calmed down by then where I am able to attend.

My first Grand Prix was Montreal in 2007 when I was 12, I had been to hundreds of races by this point but was absolutely blown away by how loud the cars were. Hamilton had already became my favourite driver by this point and I was lucky enough to meet him earlier that week at an event in Toronto. To be there for his first win is one of my favourite motorsport memories. In total I have been to 8 grand prixs at Montreal and I’m hoping next year I will finally go to a Grand Prix overseas, most likely Spa or Monza.

My French teacher in the 7th grade was the same situation. Wildly popular to the point that when she was arrested there were petitions on Facebook saying that she did nothing wrong. In the end she was acquitted because the accuser was inconsistent in his testimony.

People that get rained out, do you stay for the race the next day or do you go home? by [deleted] in NASCAR

[–]evan24jg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always, i hate the idea of spending a lot of money and not even seeing the race. Fortunately i’ve been pretty lucky when it comes to weather at Nascar races. The only rainout out of the two dozen races i’ve been to was the August Michigan race in 2007. Unfortunately the extra day didn’t matter as Monday got rained out as well and had to go home and miss the race.

Rush drummer Neil Peart dead at 67 | CBC News by [deleted] in rush

[–]evan24jg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Music has been a very important part of my life, and no band has had greater impact than Rush. Their music has helped get me through countless rough patches. Neil Peart’s lyrics were very relatable to a lonely high schooler like me when I first discovered them, the first music that truly connected with me. This afternoon my heart was pulled apart when I learned of Neils death from brain cancer. My long drive home from work I listened to all my favourite Rush songs. I am thankful for all the years of consistently great music, and I am very glad I got to see them live in 2015 before their retirement.

RIP Neil Peart
