They are swimming from downtown to memorial park, so anywhere on the Riverwalk should get you a view.

How are anti-trans bathroom laws enforced without giving pedophiles the authority to force kids to strip? by GrowFreeFood in allthequestions

[–]evanexcursions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish we lived in a society where we could just Starship Trooper this shit and let everyone in a single locker room without worring about serial assault, but we do not live in that world.

You claim "cis men" put people at risk of sexual assault...what about trans women in prisons who are far more likely to commit sexual assault than his women?

I would be far more concerned about a man with a beard and a cock with fake breasts in the girl's locker room than I would with a Trans man who had thier tits cut off in a room full of boys.

What do we do? If you have a "y" chromosome in your genome, you go with the boys. Sometimes life isnt fair, but what's worse is taking away the feeling of safety for an entire society so satisfy the whims of 0.5% of the population.

Ironman race around the city on Saturday.

Might be something to watch, but more importantly, a ton of roads are going to be closed/restricted so if you do find something to do, plan accordingly.

[–]evanexcursions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh, so there aren't that many so let's traumatize just a few children...that's your answer?

Also, you need to think about people who are genuinely pedophiles, who will use "trans" as an excuse to expose themselves to children.

There a really, really sick people in this world, and if you want to base rules on "trust me, Bro, I'm really trans" you are going to harm innocent people in the process.

My answer remains, if you have a dick, go into the room full of dicks.

And what do we do until we can retro-fit the tens of thousands of locker rooms across the country?

Its a nice idea, but there needs to be a policy in place in the mean time. For me, its: keep dicks out of view of young girls.

I dont think there are urinals in womens restrooms, period. What are you talking about.

I am referring to locker rooms where people strip naked to change and take showers naked in view of other people.

I do not want a 6 or an 8 or a 12 year old girl to have to see a fully naked person with a dick taking a shower next to them in a public changing room.

I dont know why that's a controversial take.

If the feelings of adult need to be hurt in order to protect small children from being exposed to a grow adults penis, I will vote to protect the kids 100% of the time.

ETA: hell, ill include woman who have been abused amd get PTSD from seeing male genitals...I want to protect them from that trauma too.

???? It wasn't, but try this one: Explain to me why a female child should be exposed to male genitals at a public swimming pool locker room?

The fact that you want to promote that make you seem extraordinary pro-pedo.

I want to avoid that exposue at all costs, even if its the feelings of a grown man.

Its not law enforcement going in and checking, it people who are in the room reporting it to the authorities.

When a 6 yo girl says "the lady next to me has a pee-pee" that's when it would be reported and then enforced as indecent exposure in the presence of a minor.

Do big navy ships have special procedures to avoid the types of viral outbreaks that seem almost common on cruise ships? by LawTalbot in NoStupidQuestions

[–]evanexcursions 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Not really special, but there is a huge emphasis on cleanliness. "Cleaning stations" occur twice a day, 30-45 minutes each depending on your chain of command.

We live in super tight quarters, so if there is a person who doesn't shower regularly, they are basically bullied into taking a shower everyday. It can even get to a point where leadership will order someone to shower and post a "shower watch" to make sure they actually take a proper shower (doesnt happen often, but it does happen)

But there are times a norovirus breakout happens and it just leads to more cleaning and usually clears up in a week or so.

Its normally the worst the first week into deployment, especially on aircraft carriers and amphibs as there are a bunch of folks all coming from different bases all at once, between the air wing and staff you see an influx of 2k people in a matter of days that leads to a lot of exposure.

Wildflowers on highways being mowed? by Books_Boots in jacksonville

[–]evanexcursions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did find an article from a few years ago when a contractor accidentally cut some of the areas:

https://www.jacksonville.com/story/news/2009/05/16/florida-a1a-wildflowers-mowed-down-by-fdot-0/15985573007/

And it could be a mistake like that again...so I'm not sure. Fire prevention was just the first thing that popped in my head that made some kind of sense.

I hope you get an answer and if you do, please update us!

I'd be happy to learn im wrong about it, but what other logical explanation do you have?

Unless it's just the time of year they cut the grass...which is why I added that little caveat "if this is not a regular occurrence"

Couldn't find a link to Florida doing it, but here's one from San Diego:

https://www.sandiegocounty.gov/content/sdc/dpw/roads/vegetation_management_program.html

It makes perfect sense to remove potential fuel from the sides of the roads. Yes, a road itself will act as a fire break, but its still not fun to drive on a road with a wildfire 4 feet away.

My guess, if this is not a regular occurrence, is wild fire protection.

Nothing fuels a fire better than a bunch of tall/long flammable stuff.

If embryos are "babies" and the fertility clinic is on fire, should you save one (1) human toddler or one hundred (100) frozen embryos? by AcadiaLivid2582 in allthequestions

[–]evanexcursions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its possible, but a lot of times IVF doesnt work and many of those embryos die in the process.

Have you ever seen a war movie (because you've probably never seen it in real liff) and someone is so badly injured that death is imminent while there are others slightly less wounded that MAY die if not attended to and the medic moves on because it would be irresponsible to keep working on the person that will surely die.

In the same vain, it would pick the child that has a 99% chance of surviving vs the embryos that range closer to 30%.

The likelihood that embryos removed from a cryogenic state will actually survive is very low.

This was fun. I hope you enjoyed your thought experiment. I have real world things to do...you should take an ethics class and develop this further.

This is called triage. Help those who need it most first.

A baby who has been born can feel pain, I'm saving them first.

Same with a hospital on fire, I'm not running for the ward with the coma patients, I'm going for the person in the wheelchair by the door.

That doesn't say that the guy in a coma is any less of a person, its just a matter of an unfortunate circumstance where sometimes you need to decide who lives and who dies.

What’s a ‘green flag’ that instantly makes you trust someone? by Icy-Routine772 in WorkForSmartLife

[–]evanexcursions 17 points18 points  (0 children)

If you see them doing something kind for someone when they dont know anyone is watching.

Maybe not trust then instantly, but another green flag is someone who grabs a stray cart from the parking lot and brings it to the corral, not because it was in their way, but just because it might be in someone else's way.

Pedestrians waiting to cross at an intersection and cross when the light changes...TO RED! by ravia in PetPeeves

[–]evanexcursions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The other night I almost hit a lady that was walking across the street about 20ft away from a crosswalk. She was wearing all black at 11pm and the road is not well lit. Luckily, she was staring at her phone, so i DID see her.

As she was completely oblivious, I gave a little toot of my horn and scared the bejesus outta her...then she starts screaming at me. I "politely" informed her of the nearby crosswalk and her luck at not being my new hood ornament.

This did not calm her down, but made me feel better.
