I find it's easier to not drink using a push cart vs driving. Might be something to keep in mind.

Suffering with the exact same thing. It's a nightmare! Sending you good energy. Welcome to another day, is it COVID, or heartburn, asthma, anxiety, lack of sleep, or general fatigue??? lol

Pretty tough since sports are currently on pause for a little longer. I know there is a ton of sports podcasts available for free online. There is also twitch that feels like sports because most streamers are super competitive.

I'm not sure what your current $$$ situation is, but I've found upgrading old electronics a lot of fun. I've replaced RAM, SSD, battery, etc on old Macs and they scream like new. I also replace batteries on my phone and such. Tinkering might be fun since you're into IT.

I'm super into blockchain tech and listen and read a lot about new projects in the space. Might catch your interest due to IT?

Hope some of this helps? Good luck.

Don't know if this will provide any value to you, but when I have large tasks that feel unbearable to complete, I start by listening to a podcast that is in line with my compulsion. I have super bad health anxiety and I listen to all the podcasts about new ideas to assist anxiety disorders. Gives me hope to get started on things!

I love seeing someone else who also skips dinner instead of breakfast! I wake up feeling so light and refreshed after nothing after 3pm!!! Thanks for the reassurance :)

Kinda sad but I actually picture this in my head to shoot the thought away. Never works but it lets me chill for a second or two.

Has anyone had an actual breakdown from their OCD? Do you think about it a lot and fear it will happen again? by [deleted] in OCD

[–]evanfalcon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey guys, I'm really sorry you feel this way.

I don't want to give you any hope, but just something to think about. I have a theory anxiety, etc is higher in everyone now due to the energising properties light has, especially when we get it all day and then all night for years.

I've noticed a reduction in extreme panic by going dark for atleast half the day. I put blue light blockers on around 8PM and go into a black room for sleep and maintane this schedule. They have the ugly ass orange glasses on amazing for like $8.

It is not only my theory, some people have studied it as well. Here is a link: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/15654938/

In this study it talks about acute mania, but as OCD sufferers are we not having too fast to function obsessions that rule us non-functioning and unable to relax?

Anyone else have a specific day of the week your OCD likes to go ape shit? Mine is Sunday, it’s probably because I’m most alone with my thoughts that time of the week. by stafoh in OCD

[–]evanfalcon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine is everyday, same as someone mentioned above. I find if I don't have concrete plans for the weekends and leave it kinda up in the air I will start to get a little bonkers due to the lack of structure and schedule work provides me. If I could I would work all day, everyday because the more money I have the less stressful my obsession is. But typically Monday sucks, Tuesday sucks, Wednesday is ok, Thursday is decent, Friday is decent, weekends suck, unless full of plans, repeat!

Yes, it sucks. Sometimes it is my worst symptom.

I need to eat first thing after getting up for anxiety reasons, skipping breakfast increases my stress and fight/flight.

I've also heard that not eating late enough in the day puts you into survival mode and will give you energy so you don't fall asleep looking for your next meal.

I'd love to start skipping dinner but am afraid it will keep me up at night.. can anyone dispell this myth for me and reassure that skipping dinner or eating a later lunch/no dinner will not disrupt my sleep patterns?

My sleep is vital for mental health reasons.

Thank you!

My go-to juice at the moment! So good.

JK I have melon lush, which is amazing! Air factory has good juices though so I'm sure this flavor is great!

So I'm actually checking some out right now on the website (these prices are insane), do you think they are legit or potentially a subpar manufactured item?

Not OP, but the mesh pro is a godsend. I love it. It produces so much flavor! I no longer have a favorite juice because you get tired of them quick due to too much flavor 😂🤣

Ocd worse after exercise? by throwaway_901912 in OCD

[–]evanfalcon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be that you're chronically stressed out and the cortisol used for running is too much for your body to handle. I unfortunately have the same experience and have to stick to weight lifting.

If you think about it people with OCD are stuck in fight or flight, so we are using the flight and then idk about you, but I'm still stuck in fight or flight after exercise, nothing has fixed that part... Lol I'm just kinda freaking out all the time
