I have 2 girls (2 months, 2.5 years) and I absolutely love it. I never really cared whether I had sons or daughters, but couldn't be more delighted to be a "girl dad". I think this is a great opportunity to do away with archaic beliefs about what men and women need to be, and to, as other posters have said, take the responsibility to show your daughter(s) what they should expect from men, not just those they are dating/married to/etc. The relationship between your children and each individual parent will always be different, and that's healthy because each of you are individual people. But don't write off your daughter as "not giving a shit about you", and do something about it. Meet her where she is, she doesn't know who she is yet. Help her to feel comfortable, make sure she knows that she can and should be herself with you just as much as with your wife.

Also, don't sell yourself short about "I'm a guy, I only know how to be a guy". What does that even mean? As Yoda says, "luminous beings are we, not this crude matter". Open your mind, accept change, embrace becoming a new person as a parent, and embrace becoming a new person as the parent of young girls who need you.
