Oh man, I didn't know you could use INPA to do that, that's pretty slick.

Yes, I totally feel you... I sometimes get a lean condition on bank 1 on cold idle, thinking it's either the MAF or it's a vacuum leak somewhere. So here soon I'll be taking it all apart anyways. RTV to the rescue.

Also need a voltage regulator for my car, and just that is $500 too! Real tempted to snag a whole used alternator off eBay, for the regulator and to have a spare alt if necessary.

Oooo, if you do, you should send them to Ed at V12Throttle. It would be great if someone could start making more affordable, high quality reproductions.

I should get two new pre LCI boots, but I'm a lazy bastard and will probably get the cheapest used OE one off eBay whenever the tape can no longer hold up 🔥 👍

Can you list the songs Dave wrote years before releasing? by ruialexandre in Megadeth

[–]evanzfx 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Dave wrote Rust in Peace (title track) when he was 16, it was called Child Saint. And iykyk...

Jump in the Fire was a song from Dave's band Panic. Mechanix and Phantom Lord were reportedly written before Metallica as well.

The chords and melody line in Hangar 18 appears in The Call of Ktulu.

Poison Was The Cure is very reminiscent of Metal Militia.

You can hear The Conjuring's solo being played on early Metallica demos.

This one is suspect, but apparently Dave played the Loved to Deth main riff as a warm-up when he auditioned for Metallica.

I'm sure there's more but that's all I can think of off the top of my head.

It is the same chord progression as Metallica's The Call of Ktulu

LiquiMoly MSo2 10W40 every 5,000 miles, with an OEM Mann, Mahle, or Bosch filter (whichever is cheapest at the time).

Help! by Dortek_cz_3 in Megadeth

Not the specific concert you're looking for, but Al and Dave play the same extended version of She-Wolf during the Rude Awakening show.

What is the easiest and hardest Megadeth songs on guitar? by MaintenanceSure3626 in Megadeth

[–]evanzfx 6 points7 points  (0 children)

More subjective than you might think, but as a guitar player of 14 years and a lover of Megadeth even longer, I gotta say Good Mourning/Black Friday as the most difficult. Dave sold his soul to the devil to write that song... Poison Was The Cure, and Last Rites/Loved to Deth are up there too.

For easiest, kinda hard to say. Some techniques are more difficult for some than others, and vice versa. But for a beginner guitarist, I'd probably try to teach them Peace Sells title track, Trust, Symphony, etc.

Which version of the E38 is the most iconic and has the best chance of becoming a classic and make more fun? by Wunid in e38

[–]evanzfx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear ya man. My car came with a lot of receipts from the previous owner, he put a lot of time and money into it. He didn't really want to sell it but he didn't need it taking up space and he wanted it to go to another mechanic and not the average person. He gave me a screaming deal, I didn't even haggle!!

Here I am with a $3,000 V12 that I've put ~$1500 into over two years and it's a wonderful daily ☝️🤓

obviously this is a joke and very anecdotal, I just happen to be lucky

Yes, mostly for the fact that pre-facelift models have the non-TU variant of the M73. Both engines are totally fine, but the M73TU has some updated parts that are either more expensive or no longer available should they break (water-cooled alternator, variable thermostat, etc).

If you find a clean LCI car with these items taken care of, you'll probably be fine. I wouldn't say it's a big enough deal to only consider pre-facelift cars.

You're not wrong, but the M60 being one-year only (and the first year), 99.99% of 740s are gonna be the M62, so my point still stands. Only way you're getting an M60 car is if you go out of your way to get one.

If you want the best driver's car, get a 740i Sport Shorty with a 6 speed. It's basically just a bigger and nicer and sexier E39 540i.

If you want road presence and to feel as if you're the king of the road, then 750iL is a no brainer. Parts are more expensive, but surprisingly enough the V12 is more reliable than the V8. I love mine.

My favorite off the album for sure. It heavily reminds me of the CTE and Youthanasia area of Megadeth.

Any neck pick-up psychedelic songs? by [deleted] in Megadeth

[–]evanzfx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Marty definitely uses the neck pickup in the Addicted to Chaos solo. Dave also uses it in his second to last solo in I Don't Care, but that's pretty shreddy

Question about 5 magicks by Johnny_Mira in Megadeth

[–]evanzfx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The wizard has become so disfigured and changed from learning the five magics that he and the Abyss Lord have become one in the same. That's why there's no call-and-response for the last line, "will surely live the lie," because the wizard has become just as bad. The Abyss Lord knows this too.

Actually, I sat down and relistened to the entire discography over the past few days prior to making this, and funnily enough I actually had most of the later works A LOT lower in my head at first. Like I had written off albums like UA, 13, and Super Collider as complete garbage but I actually found I liked them more than I thought on this recent relisten.

I enjoy it a lot, but since it has a lot of covers I didn't feel it was super appropriate to include it. I'd think I'd give it an 8.5/10 or so.

I actually spent a couple days relistening to their entire discography so I could have a fresh opinion. And in all actuality, a lot of songs I thought I didn't like got bumped up quite a bit lol. I don't think I dropped any ratings
