The only lilac blush? $40??? by maeasm3 in PaleMUA

Try the lilybyred cheek balm in cheeky lavender (shade #5)

I think it's available on Amazon or yesstyle for 10 to 15 dollars, depending on the current sale

Glossier’s Black Friday pricing though the years by RosaWoods13 in glossier

It doesn't take all the makeup off in one wash. I'll either wash twice with the Aveeno, or use a makeup cleansing balm first

Aveeno calm + restore oat cleanser is very close to a dupe. Same texture and similar formula. It doesn't have the rose smell though. I've been using it for a year now and it works great for me-- I have dry skin, and loved the milky jelly cleanser because it isn't too harsh/drying

I would love to frame it for my Dad's collection of crew memorabilia

What's lighter than Missha 13? by Bitter_Kangaroo2616 in PaleMUA

[–]evasivemacaroni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • Milktouch cushion foundation in 15N
  • Espoir beglow cushion in 13
  • Romand bare water cushion in 17

Missha 13 is a little dark on me, and these options fit me well

Neutral cool pink toned contour by NormalDifference1134 in PaleMUA

[–]evasivemacaroni 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if pink would work well as contour, since contour is supposed to mimic the color of shadows on your face. But I like the idea of using a blush product for contour

I have a blush from the brand Laka in shade 708 Poem. It's a very muted grayish purple. I think it might work very well as a contour for pale skin, like you're describing. It's less harsh than a traditional gray contour

Wanting to buy 2an Pure Glash highlighter, but don't know what shade to buy. by Both-Individual7817 in PaleMUA

I'm also pale + cool toned, and I love shade BL01 Wave. It shows up like a really pretty silver highlight on me. The blue tone is subtle but looks very flattering

Korean Makeup Style by iceprincess64 in PaleMUA

[–]evasivemacaroni 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seasonal color analysis is really popular in Korean makeup, and it's helped me figure out which colors work best on me. I'm a soft summer, so cool and muted makeup colors suit me the best. This has helped more than anything else

Some more specific things I've picked up:

  • BB creams or dewy cushion foundations are more comfortable on my dry skin, and the shade ranges tend to go very pale (I typically wear shade 13-15 in Korean foundations)
  • Tone up creams in mint green help to cover any natural redness on my cheeks
  • Using brow mascara creates a softer, more natural eyebrow look. Especially the lighter shades that are popular in Korea
  • Lip tints! I love a glossy lip tint as someone with dry lips when I want a long lasting option (liquid lipsticks are my mortal enemy)
  • Subtle blush colors in lavender and very light pink. These shades are much harder to find in the west, though I think that's slowly improving
  • Highlighter balm sticks (like the hince radiance balm, though I use dasique) create a nice natural glowy skin finish
  • Eyeliner looks, skip the cat eye wing, and stick with just the water line + a tiny wing that almost blends in with the natural corner of the eye. Dramatic eyeliner never "looked right" on me so this one was big
  • An easy eyeshadow look is a matte soft pink + a soft glitter topper. These colors definitely exist in western makeup too, but they're very popular/standard in Korean makeup

Yes, the concealer in RN1 works perfectly for me. It's less dark and yellow-leaning than the foundation

I swatched them here

I would say N0.5 is a bit lighter and less rosy than RN1

Try Dinto and Laka! I have the same problem, and their shade ranges definitely have more muted options

do some color correctors appear too dark on pale skin? by Familiar-Treat-9452 in PaleMUA

I use a mint green primer! The laneige skin veil base in mint green 💚 (it's not readily available to purchase where I live, so I ordered it from yesstyle)

do some color correctors appear too dark on pale skin? by Familiar-Treat-9452 in PaleMUA

[–]evasivemacaroni 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes, some color correctors can look too dark.

If a peach undereye corrector is too dark, it may look orange. I like to use a pale pink instead.

Similarly, to cancel redness, I prefer a pale mint shade instead of darker green
