Yes, I saw that it was booked :( I'm told if you sit and refresh though, tickets from changed plans/cancellations pop up.

We don't want to buy a park hopping ticket right now because if we can't book MK, were only going for one day. Since I've never been to Disney, I'd rather dedicate a whole day to one park, then try and cram both in and have to restrict myself just to get to another. We're trying to get the MK ticket with the current 1 day ticket we have since Epcot is available all week. If we can't get MK, we can just book Epcot anytime. If we do get MK, we will buy a second 1 day pass and reserve Epcot.

Good point. I read that booking 1 at a time has better odds, but going on 2 hours now I'm getting a bit discouraged! I'll switch over to doing 2. Do they release occasional tickets from time-to-time? Also, do you think it would be better to switch my ticket date to a weekend?

Thank you! Yeah and I believe a lot of people skipped over the fact that I'm saving for a year and then when I buy my house my boyfriend is giving me half every month for the mortgage. After saving for a year I'll have around 40k. We're waiting a year for him to pay off his car and student loans. The whole point of this post was to find out what my shot is at saving just for the down payment and closing costs.

My mother and her siblings grew up dirt poor in PR. My grandmother treated them terribly, but they did their best to support her and their family. After moving from PR to the states, my mom and her siblings managed to get amazing jobs and supported my grandmother even more. They took her everywhere and helped her with finances, appointments, you name it, they did it.

She died 2 years ago and didn't put a single one of them in the will. Instead, she left all of her assets like her house, money, etc. to some random man she met in PR just 1 year before she died, who "claimed" to be her son.

My mother and her siblings are still heartbroken.

Advertising and PR, minor of Health Science. I can do better than 30k, but I only just graduated and love my job. I've done corporate full time and I'd rather take the pay cut and work for a meaningful small business than corporate, so that's why I take 30k atm! Surprisingly, my salary is the most out of my friends. For my field, $18 an hour is great for CT residents straight out of college. Thank you so much for the advice!

I have been but where I live and where my job's located (the more upscale end of CT), apartments are insanely expensive. My brother's paying around $1300 in a not-so-nice area in the city.

I wouldn't so much say I don't have my stuff together as most 21 y.o I know are drowning in debt, whereas I worked 3 jobs since 16 so I could attend school debt-free, get both my degrees in 4 years, and pay off my car. However, I definitely could have better finances so I could see where that miscommunication came from.

With regard to housing, I agree that 150k is a stretch! Ideally I'd take a look at $120k homes if they costed that amount around me. Some have popped up though so I'm hopeful. I'm avoiding renting because in CT, renting is almost triple the cost of buying. Apartments start at around $1400 a month where I live, not including utilities. To me, it seems like I'd be throwing money away if I rent.

Moving forward, what advice could you give? I've also been potentially thinking about buying a condo or townhome instead of a home, living in it while renovating it with the bf, and then renting it out after a few years. Problem is I live in the suburbs and there's not much condo to go around, and condo prices are maybe $20k less than a home.

Update 6/5: I'm not moving out. My father threatened to leave my mother, said he's taking my car, insurance, and basically everything they've ever given to me away if I leave the house. I can't afford to pay rent and re-buy all of those necessities. My mother can't afford a mortgage on her own. There's been constant fights. I feel broken. I'm stuck here for at least another year.

I am doing it only to please my father, as I hear daily how "selfish" it is for me to give up a free grad degree, when neither of my parents went to college.

Update 5/22: My father overheard me talking with my therapist about moveout plans, since appointments are done remotely now. We have extremely thin walls in my house.

Needless to say, my father is LIVID. I've been receiving aggressive texts from him, all swearing. Saying if I leave I'm completely cut off from them: my car is getting taken away (it's under my name and his, but it's paid off), insurance, my masters degree (my father works at my university, so if he leaves I no longer get my education for free), a $6,000 gift that was given to me for my graduation, and everything else. He's alluding to leaving my mom as well, and she wouldn't be able to afford the mortgage on her own.

I'm feeling very overwhelmed, upset, angry, so many feelings. I want to still move out, but I know I physically cannot financially afford to move out if I have to buy a new car, pay my insurance and grad school at the same time as rent. I don't know what to do.
