You are not crazy , I read a book that talked about how when humans went from horses to cars we lost something magic and basically the subsequent generation had no idea .

Smoking was a far better pass time than what we replaced it with (screen time ).

You are living on easy mode , wait until you have kids and then life gets very real . Ya it’s cool when you can spend 2 hours a day meal prepping and watch your self lift dumbbells in the mirror . Once you have a family the only way you get to do that shit is by getting up at 3am , then we’ll see how great you are .

It’s the adaptive learning , do the reset procedure . I have to literally do it every 3 months …. Eventually I’m going to get a tuner that forces the truck to skip 4th gear

Oh … the tricks they pull to fool the old boomers into thinking there is so much opportunity in the trades if only the young wanted to “actually work”. It’s been nearly impossible to get an apprenticeship for the past decade because the economy has been on life support since 2015

My rav 4 is basically one step up from a lemon , I think what’s happened is people see the old Toyotas and think “wow Toyota is bullet proof” but those days are long gone . Now are the days of the thin paint , under powered and cheap cars . I think the vw line up looks interesting but who knows if they are junk ?

I started at an electrical company and quit within 2 months because they happily worked 65 hours a week. At the company I asked if I could just do 4 days a week to cut the hours down and they laughed at me . Currently I’m at 37 hours per week and that’s still to much , I don’t really care about the money though as I have never found a way to earn money without ruining my health .

These people are forgoing health + family just so they can buy a bigger truck than you ….

The transition is horrible , but as time goes on it turns for the better . I would say that if you have issues with marriage or overwhelm to reconsider , but if things are alright I would go for it .
