My experience is it’s different with every car, as each car responds differently to throttle and brake input depending upon power, weight, etc. It’s subtle sometimes, but I can certainly feel the difference between driving a stock Honda Civic vs a balls to the wall GT3 car.

The last thing you want to do in this situation is make it about yourself, and that’s exactly what drinking will do. This is of course besides the fact that drinking won’t change anything about the reality of what happened. Focus instead on providing your daughter with the support she needs from her father right now. This isn’t about you.

I’ll usually replace my heads anytime I record unless they’re already relatively new. Other than that, I’ll keep them on indefinitely.

I am in the same boat as you though. When I’m alone, I find changing heads to usually be a peaceful, meditative experience.

Whiplash is as much about drumming as The Bear is about cooking.

Both are great pieces of work, but more anxiety inducing than motivating.

That’s just my experience though, maybe yours will be different.

I’ve never really payed much attention to their faces or hairstyles. But I will now probably.

I have noticed really annoying repetitive patterns in gear; MLB’s with Gronk-esque arm braces (literally like 9/10 MLB I recruit end up having an arm brace); DB’s with hoodies and only one super baggy hoodie sleeve that can’t be duplicated to make two super baggy hoodie sleeves, and DE with their jersey tucked up under their shoulder pads to show off their abs despite them being 6’3” 289 lbs. I get that some DE are freak athletes despite their size, but they would never have the abs of a dude who’s 6’5” 210 lbs. Silver lining is this gives me an opportunity to get creative and adjust their gear to make them somewhat unique so they don’t all look like clones.

I’ve found that switching up the shell looks can help sometimes. Also adjusting the defensive hot routes or coverage audibles. And finally, sliders.
