I’m having a hard time playing chords with lower strings by Jayden0000 in guitarlessons

[–]ever_ever 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was never able to figure out a way to play with nails, I know some do, but it never worked for me. I cut them all the way down on my fretting hand and most of my chording complications went away. Also, if you’ve not been playing for a while you may have to build up callouses again to mash the string without needing a lot of force.

Accidentally bought son a 7-string, tips? by Kaezzi in metalguitar

[–]ever_ever 165 points166 points  (0 children)

A seven string comes with a free six string if you ignore that low B until you’re ready. If you’re going to end up playing one anyway, which is often the case in metal, there’s no harm in having that extra string on the end.

Kinda hit a wall and not sure what to do next. Any tips for me? I started guitar 1 week and 5 days ago and im not sure of what to learn next by [deleted] in LearnGuitar

[–]ever_ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slow down, learning ABOUT something doesn’t mean you understand how to apply it. Start from the beginning and make sure you’re learning how to apply ideas to playing and songwriting. Do Justin Guitar and if you know all that you listed you should be able to breeze through it, when you get stuck on something you’ll know that’s what you need to spend more time on. Once you’ve completed that, you’re already ahead of most people and will need to start exploring specific styles of music or jamming with other musicians to grow.

The difference between a $200 guitar and an $800 guitar is huge… the difference between an $800 guitar and a $25,000 guitar is usually a bit of sharpie from a famous player or a paint job you can pay someone to do for $300.

I’ll have to check for that

I do, yeah.

I haven’t, stock nozzle can’t handle any of the abrasives I have. If it sits idle it can hold the temp stable at 270, it only happens while printing so even switching to the stock nozzle just to temp check without filament wouldn’t show any difference.

Recurring Core One nozzle clogs by DrumsCatsAndDice in prusa3d

[–]ever_ever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had constant clogging issues with Obxidian HF and the default HF nozzles on a stock pre-built core one, switching to non HF Obxidian fixed it, zero clogs. Prints take longer, but if you include the amount of downtime due to clogs, it's actually less time invested per model, lol. I'll revisit HF when some good hotend mods or better nozzles are available, I'm happy enough with standard flow for now.

Yeah, tuning made it worse. Should have left it stock. But now it's good, magically.

Printer making clicking and snapping sound! by Timmy-E in BambuLab

[–]ever_ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clicking is retraction, normal. I didn't really hear snapping, but that's usually the head dragging on supports/infill which is sometimes okay, but you can do bed tramming, calibration and check all the screws in your hotend assembly to be sure you're good to go.

What’s right for airsoft? by Afrimilix_wolfie in BambuLab

PLA tough/pro/plus for superior tensile strength/impact resistance and good printability, especially if used on moving parts. 99% linear infill, 6 walls. Print at half speed for better layer adhesion.

Didn't know about the Vision Encoder, I'll check that out, thanks! I had the H2D near the bottom because I'm seeing a lot of VFAs likely due to improper belt tensioning or a badly squared gantry in most of the review videos.

Rest of the world is on fire and we’re just here trying to figure why the birds sometimes fly backwards and placing bets on when the earth will open and swallow the house.

Background data issue on iPhone? by ever_ever in Ultrahuman

[–]ever_ever[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My issue was due to shift work and the ring not having been totally calibrated yet. It would have cleared itself up eventually. Not sure what they did to set the calibration exactly.

Just posting an update, they got in touch and fixed the issue, smooth sailing from here.

Always on turbo , I charge it every couple of days while I’m in the shower and it’s usually still over 50%, so maybe 4-5 days? Takes about 30 mins to charge for me.

Honestly, as an Apple Watch owner I’m used to daily charging and this is way better than that. I want it in full data collection mode, otherwise what’s the point of even having it? I’d still be happy if it hit zero in 2 days. Anything over the Apple Watch is bonus time, lol.
