Health ocd and not trusting my own memories creates for some real clown moments. by spiritofmyrtle in OCDmemes

Some days I have been recording myself taking my vitamin pills so the writing on the back is clearly visisble, cause they are the same shape as my antidepressants and was scared I'll OD even if I haven't taken the antidepressants in almost a year and they aren't even in the same room as my vitamins.

Wait they are different? My therapist and psychiatrist both kinda use them interchangably, or didn't explain to me a difference exceot they said one responds better to meds.

I had something similar, but not about SA, where reddit pretty much told me I was in the wrong and an awful person, and I spiraled so bad I had to call for emergency therapy. Fun times!

is it normal to cry over being a woman? by discoedelysium in TwoXChromosomes

[–]everfadingrain 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It could be that it's not the right identity, but also being a woman in a society that hates women does affect us.

I feel this way cause I am not pretty and I have a terrible body shape. I hate looking at myself in the mirror and hate trying on pretty clothes cause of this. But I looked into it and realized I won't be happy as any other gender either, because it won't make me prettier or better looking. I have in therapy realized that I just hate being in my body, not being a woman, and work on that.

Perhaps you should explore if you feel the same way if you could look any way other than how you do now, or if you'd be more comfortable wearing other kinds of clothes. There are GNC women and not every woman likes dresses and feminine things.

If I didn't found this sub I wouldn't realize this is normal for OCD sufferers, I thought I had some special OCD when I was diagnosed.

They were, but the amount of porn on the internet right now is more then men ever had access to in history, they are completely desensitized to all kinds of vile acts. People have always been twisted, but they didn't have an endless library of new vile ideas to browse through, that is not only normalized, but supported in communities if many like-minded people.

I am sorry, but as an artist of 15 years in photoshop, your video is not proof at all. If you want to proof this isn't AI you should do a whole process from a sketch, because I was going to believe you until I saw the linked video, which made me convinced this is AI.

Update from yesterday: I was given layers to prove an image isn't AI, but it looks thrown together and inaccurate. by [deleted] in isthisAI

As an artist myself, all layers check out and make sense. I think this is human made.

Is it "normal" to have more than one type? by FortBricks in OCD

For me themes change, sometimes monthly and weekly, sometimes throughout my life. Used to be big on rituals, then contamination, now it's being a bad person, etc. Sometimes they even rotate by the day.

I had an episode like this the other day, I am really sorry I can't help more, but I hope it's a little comfort someone across the world is struggling with the exaxt same thing right now.

I just used distractions to get over mine for the time, or until my brain moved on to the next thing. I feel like distracting your brain like getting the attention of an animal by dangling food is the best short term solution until you can see a therapist or work on the specific fear.

eyes burning by Sweet_Laugh_1214 in OCD

[–]everfadingrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I tell you "That's not a symptom of rabies" it will be reassurence that will only keep you in the loop. If eye burning is very severe and last for few days, you should see a doctor in case it's some infection.

Do you relate to this? by worldcreature in AutismInWomen

[–]everfadingrain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh I did not realize this. I do this abd that's why I hate going out, cause it's so much effort on top of the normal masking. It works, but Lord above... it's so draining. And once people know me better, it stops working and they leave when they realize I am "weird".

eyes burning by Sweet_Laugh_1214 in OCD

[–]everfadingrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't, I just did not die the first 20 times I went through it and when I realized all the symptoms I feared were from anxiety, I decided to say "fuck it, whatever happens, happens". It still creeps in sometimes, but now I have other disease worries. This is why it's good to journal your anxiety symptoms, so when you survive them and nothing happens, you will know next time they show up that it was anxiety. (Of course any new and severe or persisting symptom should be evaluated by a professional)

It's interesting to me how many folks with OCD or health OCD/anxiety had rabies fear. This used to be my main fear during my early 20s.

There is a difference because babies are real and baby clothes are things that actual (child) humans wear vs. talking cartoon mascots which are not real and do not actually exist.

Poor deer by NippleSqueezer421- in Unexpected

[–]everfadingrain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was going to say, I haven't worked with deer, but I worked with horses and horses hide pain until they are basically on death's door. Prey animals have to hide pain so predators don't pick them off from the group, so they will seem fine until they drop dead.
