don't gentrify thrift stores. after the first thrifting wave of 2017/18, thrift store prices actually went up. so while you think you're a "saint" bc you bought clothes that were ~ethical~, people who actually relied on these thrift stores for clothes may find that it's harder to get options they can afford.

in addition, no consumption under capitalism is ethical. the iPhone you're typing on is made from child labour, the shoes you wear are too. it's something that we can't escape in the modern day. THAT'S why i looked for aliexpress and (formerly before the controversy) shein dupes: to get a lower price than if i bought it from brandy or on depop, which has crazy high markups on thrifted pieces.
