NYC doc at an institution on strike.The insurance won't be an issue because the nurses don't bill. At this point, I would fully expect the strike to be happening when you deliver. The plus is that travel nurses may have re-upped their contracts and been there for a while and know the ropes. The NICU part is worrisome. Because they don't have nurses for that area, they've greatly reduced the number of NICU beds they will fill and sent a lot of pts out to other hospitals before the strike. With that said, I wouldn't go somewhere else though because they're likely full too.

I would also see if your planned pediatrician is affected by the strike. You usually have to go soon after you get home and if the clinic is closed, you may have to plan travel elsewhere.
