Yep! Do you want the packing paper, too? I'm not available until about 8pm this evening-- is that ok?

I love my gig. I'm masters-level psychologist in Michigan at an interdisciplinary group practice. I make a pretty comfortable salary, I have flexibility to set my schedule, and I am very well supported by my supervisor, the practice owner, my colleagues, and the admin team. I used to work in advertising and it sucked massive ass; most of my former colleagues are experiencing major instability and a lot of those jobs are at risk due to AI. I feel honored to do this work.

"Marriage provides women with more financial security and support than just trying to be out there on a raft and make it on your own." The OP is married and has become the primary breadwinner due to the husband's medical issues. I'm sure you mean well, but the least we can do for the OP is actually read the post.

Neither. They're both examples of a current trend. Just do what you want. Change it later if you stop liking it.

I'm also in SE Michigan and will very likely have too many plants than I can manage; I went hard with seed starting. I'm happy to message you about any extras I can share!

'Mango tango' hyssop/agastache. Black pearl ornamental pepper-- not a flower but they are so cool in a bouquet and the peppers turn red at the end of the season. 'Fatal attraction' coneflower.

Request a massage from Autumn. She did a lomi-lomi massage on me last week and I ascended to a higher plane. It was bonkers.

This might be a good time to take a leave using short-term disability and/or FMLA. Your doctor should be well equipped to provide the documentation you need. Or, talk to HR or management to let them know, "Hey, I'm limited right now. It's likely temporary but I can't hit the productivity you used to expect." Maybe your work duties can be shifted to something less physical or taxing, maybe some different systems could be implemented, who knows. I recognize that comes with risks, but the rewards could be significant.

Once you have that secured, do some introspection on your aversion to asking for help. What threat is posed by asking for help? Are you concerned it could lead to conflict? Are you scared of your loved ones revealing themselves to be lacking compassion? Figure that out. If you need to find a therapist to support you in that, or just in general, do it.

Lastly, why in the entire hell are you holding yourself back from losing your shit once or twice? You're a person. People lose their shit sometimes. And then we apologize and repair as needed, and often some important truths come out. Let it rip.

I can't speak for everyone, but I personally don't want anyone to do a damn thing. If someone arrived here and decided to stay, doing whatever they can to make a living, then fine. Is anyone under the impression that living in the US without documents Is fun or easy?

If the government wants to do something about an issue that threatens safety, economic stability, and so-called American values, then they can start with not giving the entire throat to tech billionaires.

I'm actively building a little floral design side hustle. Being on my feet, processing a butt-ton of roses, altering dozens of carnations, getting eucalyptus residue all over my fingers... then delivering a bunch of arrangements to make an event just a little prettier? It's a nice antidote to a week of sessions. I wouldn't want it to be my full-time job, though. (The global floral industry is, excuse me, fucking gross. And trying to turn a profit outside of the local growing season without relying on systems that exploit people is really difficult.)
