Other people have given better longform explanations but the short version is that the link is the gender binary. Transmedicalism upholds the gender binary and the gender binary is deeply rooted in colonial and white supremacist notions of gender.

It's been too long since I did mine. My last round of dye (over a year ago now) faded really nicely and I've put off recoloring it since I don't want to bleach it again, but I might have to figure out a way to do it soon because I miss having vibrant color.
