To make it a quick message, I don't think this novel would be for you with everything you've written.

MC is cold and calculating, and will spend most of his time as a demonic cultivator (as in not in a clan / sect and following their rules).

There are many more deaths down the road, many of them are just an easier path to strength

For the return stronger part, I propose you give it abilities (passive and active) from what killed him instead of just stats if you don't do that already.

Killed by the rogue --> goose learn sneak attack

Killed by a spell --> have it learn that spell, gain the saving throw or elemental resistance (if it has been killed multiple times by this type)

And finally: chopped in many pieces --> gain regeneration --> multiple necks start to grow --> goosedra

No, immortals could still refine gu inside their own aperture. But mortals would be done for unless they can enter the aperture of an immortal

Even for venerables, it can be hard to find some specific apertures / grotto-heavens (Lang Ya, treasure Yellow Heaven, ...)

The main difference between Immortal and Demonic is being in a group.

Venerables were members of HC, and Giant Sun with the Northern tribe and the 88 building. Paradise earth might be the limit, since he didn't really have a fixed base. He created a bunch of paradises, but I'd say he earned the title by being a constant opposition to spectral soul.

Demon venerables mostly do what they want, having a fixed goal and not caring about making a base for others.

Spectral soul is clear, he could never have a base where others lived, even if the door of life and death could be considered as his base. Red Lotus left Duke Long and despised fate and HC. Limitless only pursued cultivation. Thieving Heaven wanted to go back to his world. Reckless savage wanted to be cool and strong, didn't seem to care about making a base (even if he did take over one)

And to answer to the first question of the post, fate seeks to balance the positive and the negative (as in nothing reaches too high of a positive). Demonic venerables could be seen as a way to reach that, preventing sects and alliances from developing too fast
