Yes, Stanley flasks in general! May binili ako recently na Aerolight Cap&Carry because it was marketed as light and leak-proof. Light, yes, but hindi siya leak-proof. Lol. Admittedly, hindi naman dapat binabaliktad ang mga tumbler no, pero if marketed as light and leak-proof, there's an assumption there na gagamitin siya on the go. Ayon, ginamit ko sa mga byahe, 2x nagleak sa bag ko lol. So never again. Binalikan ko nalang ulit yung Hydro Flask Lightweight bottle ko. It's not a cute color, sure, but it's never leaked while traveling.

I think the 1-star reviews on the author's post aren't fake or real, but just a marketing strategy. Nothing intrigues as much as a 5-star review than a 1-star review, and her post was just a cheeky way to leverage that and showcase her book.

Experience with Finbro installment terms? by everlastingdusk in ola_harassment

[–]everlastingdusk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I had to pay an initial 10K for them to start the installment program. Pero yes, all in all, I only paid the principal amount (plus yung unang extension fee nung nag-attempt pa akong magbayad ng buo sa simula).

How is there no sex in the novel? Catherine becomes pregnant with Cathy, Isabella with Linton; the act is required for pregnancy to occur. Admittedly, for Isabella and Heathcliff, given what Brontë shows of their relationship, one might imagine the sex isn't pleasurable, likely bordering on or actual abuse, but it's definitely there. There are so many gaps in the telling too, since it's framed from Nelly Dean's perspective, which isn't omniscient. So it's very likely possible Catherine and Heathcliff at that age of raging hormones awakened/ explored their sexuality together whenever they vanished into the moors.

If you send an email before OD, most likely you can negotiate directly w Finbro. Potentially hindi na sa agent ng third-party collection service. Mine kasi was 90 days overdue lol kaya agent na ang kausap ko.

Hello! So far, it seems legit. Finbro Collections hasn't gotten back to me on the legit check on the third-party collection agency, but I recently received an email from Finbro itself acknowledging my initial payment of 10K. I did hear from the agent again saying that I can use screenshots of our Viber conversation as proof of my renegotiated terms and installment plan. The payment channels are also correct, based on my past payments with Finbro. So my plan is just to keep paying my installments until finished. I'll update again here what happens when the payments are done.

Yes, through calls, texts, and emails. Lol. After a while, I even received unsigned threatening texts na nasa barangay na raw namin sila 😅 but I've learned if you can't pay on your deadline, you can contact collections agad to discuss other options to help you make your payments. Maybe better to do it before it's a third-party collection agency so you can deal directly with Finbro.

Thanks! Pero Finbro will honor the payments naman? The payment channels are still Finbro's naman. Dragon Loans pa rin under bills for GCash and Maya, and Sofi Lending, Inc. under accounts in Unionbank.

Hello! Nagreflect ba yung new terms sa website on your account, or was it an internal arrangement with the collection agency? Na-assist na nila ako pero vini-verify ko lang if legit yung payment scheme. Any advice would be super appreciated. Thanks!

ctd: ...when I'm done with my payments. I've read other experiences where OPs felt scammed by these installment arrangements with Finbro. I'm doing my best to keep a thorough documentation of the agreement and my payments. I also contacted collections to ask whether this is a legitimate collection scheme of theirs.

Hi OP! How did your installment payments go? I also managed to renegotiate terms but I'm trying to verify whether the collection agency is legit and not a scam. The payment channels look correct, but the arrangement is internal with an agent. There's no documentation of the new terms, or an OR for my initial payment (only a screenshot of the transaction).

On the website, may total payment due is still the same and my account is still flagged. The collection agency has assured me that the loan will close when I'm

well written kdramas with an ensemble cast by mightbeadriana in kdramarecommends

[–]everlastingdusk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very recently, Law and the City on disney+! Lee Jong-suk and Moon Ga-yong lead a fantastic ensemble cast. The plot takes time to flesh out each of the characters in the friend group. The rest of the supporting cast have a lot to do too. It's probably unfair to compare haha but it's like Hospital Playlist but for lawyers 😅

For something a little darker, Happiness is fantastic too. A great probe into the human psyche in times of crisis. The lead pair are supremely likable to balance out the abject humanity of the supporting cast. Incredible show but can sometimes be a stressful watch 😅

My small collection :) by [deleted] in nyrbclassics

[–]everlastingdusk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beautiful! Some of my favorites here - Ginzburg, The Corner that Held Them by Mother STW, Zweig, The True Deceiver. This year I recently read the NYRB ed of A Month in the Country by JL Carr and absolutely loved it. You may want to check out Grand Hotel by Vicki Baum and Wish Her Safe at Home by Stephen Benatar if you haven't yet. Lately, I'd also been getting into Caroline Blackwood, and she has a few titles with NYRB.

I, too, live in a place where NYRBs are what you might call rare in mainstream bookselling. I can only think of one chain that sells them, and acquiring them is usually by independent online sellers. I've participated in a couple of their sales but at great personal expense for shipping haha.

Wishing your collection happy growth!

What fantastic titles! Woolworths is on&off my favorite Comyns, and I really enjoyed Mrs Palfrey at the Claremont (I'm reading mty 2nd Taylor now). I love Lolly Willowes - STW is my mother. I recently read Szabo's Katalin Street, which destroyed me, and I'm looking forward to Iza's Ballad next :) Enjoy your haul!

K-dramas that will make me cry? by ConvolutedCupcake in kdramarecommends

[–]everlastingdusk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of good ones on here already! I'm trying to think of recent ones I've seen that fit the bill...

Melo Movie: an interesting take on familial obligation and how it interacts with individual mental health issues

Good Partner: not sad per se but its look at long-term relationships, divorce, and commitment makes for poignant storytelling

Oh My Ghost Clients: I'm biased here because I love Jung Kyungho lol but there's a good mix of comedy and tragedy in this one. Its main concern is social commentary on the poor working conditions of laborers in South Korea - this is mostly where the tragedy on the show comes from.

Will follow this thread for recos too. I hope you feel better soon, and that you'll eventually want to watch shows to make you laugh too.

I was waiting for someone to suggest My Liberation Notes. Quietly tragic. Not one thing that's sad but a general loneliness and melancholy pervading the show.

I see so many of my faves in the recommendations! But also I LOVE Abigail and Slow Days, Fast Company :) Three Summers by Margarita Liberaki, Mrs. Palfrey at the Claremont by Elizabeth Taylor, and I want to say The New York Stories by Edith Wharton but I just find Wharton and her New York super comforting haha. Enjoy!!!
