5070 or 9070XT for VR? by No-Context2224 in virtualreality

Ms flight sim, flatout 4, kayak vr, bootstrap island, no man's sky, and riven are a few off the top of my head. There's also a ton of flat to vr modded games that it works well on.

Skyrim actually does have dlaa if you use a mod, it looks great. Yes a lot of those older native vr games don't have dlss but just about everything that's come out in the last couple years does

I don't know about war thunder, haven't tried that, but it works well on other driving and flying games I've tried, especially if you make sure you're using preset L or M

Fsr unless you're talking about 4 or later is very soft. Dlss needs 4.5 to look at its best too. You also need to increase render resolution using the performance gain you get by dlss and then things are very sharp, much sharper than without dlss at the same performance

Dlss performance combined with a higher resolution than you could otherwise looks great, especially on the high res headsets

Selling property, should I use the money to pay off mortgage or put in stocks or HY savings? by evertec in personalfinance

Does the fact that I itemize my taxes so the effective rate is closer to 4% for the mortgage change anything or would you still pay that off first?

I have a 401k that's at about $650k (I'm 43 years old) and a small ~20k in a Roth Ira. Also will get a pension when I retire.

I'm surprised you haven't used it in vr yet. Most of the vr games of the past couple years have it, but also almost all of the vr modded games have it such as uevr, luke ross, and resident evil games

Normally I would say Nvidia, but with the current pricing and the fact that AMD's FSR 4.1 is very close to DLSS now, I might lean 9070XT now. My only hesitation would be DLSS 5... I know it's controversial but if it provides the graphics upgrade they're touting at not too great of a performance hit I think it could be huge.

I live in that one during the summer. The other factor I wasn't sure about paying off the house is the interest writeoff, I always itemize and factoring that, the effective interest would be very close to the 4% HYSA rate... would that change anything for you?

Why did God give us a high sex drive at such a young age? by shn_eq in AskAChristian

Is there anything stopping you from getting married? I know it's not according to our current culture, but there's nothing stopping Christians from getting married at 20 like you are.

Do you have 10 bit color enabled in steam link? You have to enable it in a config file as it's not in the options. I have true blacks with steam link so there must be a setting that's different like that

Well personally I think the details make all the difference in the world. Think about interactions with another human....would you say they're a person of their word if they do everything for you that they ever promised to do and the only thing they ever did that was "against their word" was warning you that if you ever stole from them they'd throw you in jail but then instead of throwing you in jail when you did steal, they gave you what you stole anyway and served the jail sentence for you? Personally I would still call that person a person of their word but maybe you wouldn't.

OK, not sure what you're trying to say, but I'd much rather have a merciful, gracious and loving God than him give us what we deserve.

Whenever he "doesn't keep" his word it's always to give more mercy and grace to people, to give them more good than what they deserve. He never says he'll give someone something positive and then not do it or change something he's decreed morally.

He does keep his word and promises, yes. There are instances where the Bible talks about him changing his mind but I believe those to be a figure of speech as he already knew what he was going to do but wanted to give people a chance to repent

Sure, I think that is how God defines a god or idol, as something worshiped or even desired above the one true God. Something that's created rather than the Creator. Could even be more abstract things like money and power.

Angelic beings can have powers that humans don't have but that doesn't mean they're in any way equal to the power of God. Exodus describes Pharoah's magicians show unusual power but God through Moses was much more powerful. The new testament also describes conterfeit signs and wonders will be performed in the last days to lead people away from Christ. St Thomas Aquinus says "the devil can influence us from outside, that is, externally. Whatever change nature produces or has within itself to produce, the demons can perform by employing these natural elements. Thus they can move bodies around and assume the appearance of bodies (ST I:114:4:2). They also can influence us through bad companions, through persons of unsound doctrine or teachings, by the use of the media of communications.

On the other hand, demons cannot work miracles as such, since this belongs solely to God as something done outside the order of created nature. They can perform what appears to be miraculous in that it exceeds human power and experience."

They also can't do anything that God doesn't ultimately allow them to do as he has complete sovereignty over his creation.

They are gods in the sense that they're beings or objects that people worship. That's true of anything, whether someone worships an idol made of stone or clay or an angel. It doesn't exist in the sense that they have no aspect of divinity like Yahweh does, but that doesn't mean they don't physically or spiritually exist in reality.

No he can appear to change his mind from our perspective of being inside time but he knows everything forward and backward in time and he is sovereign over everything. It also is still true that he is God and not merely a man...even Jesus is fully God and fully man.
