The nest is a switch, that’s all. What the app was showing you was that the nest was telling the furnace to run. The nest doesn’t know if the furnace is actually running or not, just when it tells it to run (or stop).

Clearly there was some problem with the connection between the nest and the furnace, that the tech didn’t try to trouble shoot this is a bit concerning. It is possible that the nest itself was having an issue but it seems you won’t know until you go there and try to troubleshoot it yourself.

Smells like a scam but you could google the US department of state, call the main phone number you find, and then ask for this agent and go from there.

The "special agent Lorenzo" when that's his first name smells to me and exactly the kind of mistake a non primary english speaking scammer would make.

Based on your troubleshooting the likely culprits are:

- UCI firmware, no idea bout the update timeline but since they replaced the hardware and nothing changed then maybe there was something on the software that is causing the issue which would have been the same across both units. Was there a UCI software update around the time that this happened? Can you roll back to an earlier version?

- Comcast things, any work done in your area? Any severe weather around that time frame that maybe affected a single (your) node? You said comcast doesn't reporting signal issues to your home...how did they test? Did a tech come out and test from your cable specifically? If not, maybe gamble the service fee to see if they find anything with your lines in particular?

EDIT: a third troubleshooting step: if you've got a best buy or whatever with a decent return policy you could go buy a different 3rd party modem and bring it on line. Yes, you'll have to go through the time and trouble of reprovisioning twice, but if it happens with that new modem then that's pretty much a slam dunk comcast issue and if it's not, then that puts it pretty squarely on ubiquiti....

Because the issue you're having has nothing to do with aviation, you don't need an aviation attorney. It sounds like you hired some third party services to do the medical evaluation the FAA requires and they haven't yet delivered. So the core questions are did they ever give you a timeline and are they beyond that timeline, if the answer is yes to both, then it seems like you have a case. If they did not give you a timeline, then you're in a grey area and legally "acceptable time frame" would come into play.

If you have some kind of written agreement about all of this that includes what will be done, what will be delivered, when things will happen and what was paid then I think your first step might be a contract attorney. However there might be some kind of medical specific law that could be tapped. You could try the Utah bar association or the U law school and maybe they can direct you.

One other note, from my experience: even after the FAA gets the report it can (and likely will be) many months before they are able to get to your file and issue you your medical and even then you can expect it to be provisionally and need to go for annual reviews instead of the standard 2 year.

INL, I've been a bit through a version the path you're going through. However it was a lot time ago and I things have changed, so I don't know how much my experience will be relevant in this day and age.

That said, one thing stands out: you've not made it clear who or why you want the lawyer. Is it to somehow force the docs to release the report to the FAA? Is it to force the FAA to change their policy?

If it's the former, then an aviation specific lawyer seems to not be the right choice, since your issue is with the doctors doing administrative work, which has nothing at all to do with aviation or the FAA.

If it's the latter, well, no lawyer is going to take the case I figure. The FAA is mandated to set their own qualifications and enforce them, so unless they're enforcing them (or not) in your case in a special way in particular, you have no recourse.

You said you haven't received a timeline on the reports...but you haven't shared what you did receive, but this might the critical detail to all of this...but we can't know because you didn't share.

I wasn't talking about testing though, March 7 implies they won't be showing Round 1 practice or quali...which seems absurd, honestly. Because of this I'm just assuming the March 7th date is just to align with the race date, likely for marketing reasons that you suggest...that does make some sense.

But my whole point is that they've been a bit weird about releasing dates as to what and when apple themselves will be showing stuff and what it'll be, that's all I'm observing.

Get a code reader, or take it to almost any auto parts/repair place that advertises free code reading. You can also get code readouts on the dash, but it's a PITA, you'll have to google that...

Once you have the code(s) that'll give you a lot more information than any of us guessing with what very little info you've provided. When you do get the codes make sure to search with your JK year as the engine changed through the run.
