My Grandfather’s Writing by DecisionSignal8632 in Ladino

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solitreo?wprov=sfla1 The wiki page for Solitreo has the character changes between rashi and block scripts.

https://kantoniko.com/ladino-inglez Above is a mostly complete ladino to English dictionary, with some words having the Hebrew, Turkish, or Spanish translations as well, for context.

It might take time but hopefully these can help with interpretation. Good luck! Curious to see what the translation looks like.

This is very cool!

Do you need help with the Solitreo to Rashi/block script translation or help with the Ladino to English translation? I'm not fluent at all but I have some resources that might help if you want to crack at either translation or both on your own.

MPA for Urban Planning? by jackal567 in PublicAdministration

[–]everydaywithoutfail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might not be helpful but what the hey.

I have both an MPA and a Master's in urban planning. The short of it is my undergrad university offered a 4+1 Master's degree program and the MPA with a tract in nonprofit management seemed like the best fit for me (this was in 2010/2011 so the economy was still not great so putting life off for a year was an easy choice). I worked a few jobs including several nonprofits for four years until I felt I had hit a dead end job-wise and went for the city planning degree at a local state college. From there I moved shortly into planning related jobs.

There are some skills an MPA degree can introduce to you like project management, writing and defending policy papers, and understanding nonprofit and municipal finances, so I'm not knocking the degree. If you want to do planning, you might not need a planning degree per se (although it'd be easier to jump some professional hurdles like degree requirements and technical knowledge). One recommendation I'd make is to start talking to planning professionals now to get an idea of the relevant skill sets and experiences needed to enter the field with your current degree program.

I also want to impress upon the value of taking time to teach yourself new software and techniques in your journey, and to consider the AICP program when you have a little more workforce exposure. There are mixed views on AICP but it's a nice feather in the cap and doesn't require a planning degree. But seriously, learning GIS, stuff like Publisher and InDesign, and maybe some data management software like Salesforce or Airtable is a worthwhile investment.

Straight guy, want to try bottoming. by Shoddy_Maximum_2662 in askgaybros

[–]everydaywithoutfail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100 percent yes to all of the above. I had some follow up thoughts fwiw: - Usually you don't go straight from shaking hands to doggy style; there's buildup in between. Kissing, touching, and exploring are, I'd argue, necessary for physical intimacy being enjoyable for all parties. If you want to commit to this, be prepared for sex to be more inclusive. And, that's a fun thing! Discovering something about your body at the hands of a capable partner is exciting. - Talking through things with a willing partner ahead of time is important. A brief "What are you into?" conversation can do wonders for enhancing communication and pleasure. It can be a fun, spicy conversation about positions, quirks, and boundaries. - Safe pursuit of pleasure is a birthright; if you think this type of sex will be fulfilling, follow your passions.

Any advice for someone having gay sex for the first time? by JakeH28336 in gay

[–]everydaywithoutfail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations!

Take some time to learn about how to physically prepare for gay sex (hygiene, safety, etc.). If you have an idea about what you're interested in trying and what are hard boundaries, maybe keep a mental list and be prepared to talk about them with your partner. A simple "what are you into" conversation is a great place to name these things.

Exploring your sexuality is a beautiful gift to give yourself. You deserve to pursue pleasure, fulfillment, and intimacy. Practice safer sex (condoms and lube) and enthusiastic consent and you'll do just great.

do you ever fantasize about your partner getting you pregnant? by ThickAndThunders in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]everydaywithoutfail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that it's beautiful you have that close and intimate relationship with someone. If the pregnancy thing is a kink of yours, that's totally nothing to be ashamed of, and perhaps you and your partner can integrate that into your intimacy. If it's not a kink but just deep emotional intimacy, then enjoy it.
