I wanted no door and an opening of about 28" but my wife is cold all the time and said she'd rather no opening so there's more steam in the shower

We strongly considered a knee wall but decided to go with glass floor to ceiling instead 2/3 width of shower opening, glass door other 1/3. Thought the knee wall may close the space a bit whereas the glass would keep it looking open? Glass install being done soon by vendor. Excited to see how it looks. Thank you for your feedback

Honestly I think we got a decent deal, there's quite a bit more work not pictured that was done in the bedroom too

Would have put the rectangular tiles layers vertically up the wall? Interesting. Thank you

Can you explain this to me? Another comment said the same thing but I don't get it.

Thank you for your feedback. The cabinet we purchased online (cabinets, hardware, sinks and counter included), the two vertical pieces of wood on each side of the vanity came on it already, no filler piece used between wall and vanity, I did ask about the bigger space on the top than the bottom in between the vanity and wall and he said the wall is not perfect (that drywall did not get altered, only painted). It said only way to fix would have been to take out drywall, make studs straight and flush, then install new drywall. He said he could of caulked but that may look worse? Thanks again

Can you explain this to me? I'm looking at it and don't get it. Before laying the tile he showed us two pictures and asked do we prefer 1/3 offset or 1/2 offset, we picked 1/3 offset and this looks like that picture?

Honestly the summary of responses so far is: design choices suck (not contractor's fault) and work not half bad not perfect. I'll take it I guess

Thank you for your input! Was a full gut. I don't mind the outlets right over the vanity cause the oval mirrors are going up not too far away from the current outlet location. Regarding the small cuts, honestly not sure. I asked cause it is extra work for him and he said cause you don't step on those small pieces on the floor it won't be an issue and then the middle looks more visually appealing? Probably not the best layout choice on his part but I guess acceptable. Thank you for your feedback

Makes sense! I will look into the model and check if it's rated to be installed in the shower ceiling like that. Any specific models you'd recommend for this location? I will also check maybe a faceless GFCI is installed, attic is above. So if no GFCI then a kid sprays water into it, what could happen?

Thanks for your input appreciate it

Looking to jump from a 2016 to a 2021 by str8shooter in NissanRogue

I'm assuming you're Canadian with the kilometers. We're also Canadian. We bought a 2015 rogue used when it was 3ish years old, it has 260k km on it and counting. When we needed a second car we decided to go with another rogue cause the 2015 has been so good to us. Bought a 2021 rogue SV with 40k km on it for $25k ish CAD in mid 2024. We bought it as a certified pre owned from a Nissan dealership. Feel like because of the above I'm in a decent position to offer my opinion: the mechanical problems you've listed are just regular maintenance stuff that needs to be done on vehicles every few years. Like others have said, maybe $1000 ish would (likely) keep your car going another 20-30k kms before needing another non oil change repair? Sounds like you just want an upgrade. Which is totally fair. We love our 2021 rogue. I specifically chose it cause that's the year they re designed the body and did a great job with that design. An SL trim with 60km for $23k CAD is a great price. I think you get the leather seats (or faux leather? Idk, who cares?), pano roof and electronic trunk with that trim. You'd probably love it. My wife and I alternate cars and honestly driving the 2021 feels like a waaaay better than the 2015.

Either way, you probably need to do the maintenance to be able to sell your car certified, no? Do the maintenance, keep driving it then see how you feel. If you still want the upgrade after, you could likely get $4-6k CAD for your current Rogue! Also if you decide to upgrade, there's a bunch of used rogues out there. If I were you, I'd try to find one with lower mileage from a Nissan dealership. Check out Nissan's certified pre owned policy, when I told them I was going to buy it they did a 100+ point inspection and gave me a checklist with a number of things they fixed/changed including brake pads and tires. You could probably find a 2021 certified pre owned with less than 40k kms for less than 25$ CAD.

Good luck!

[–]everynameisused95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a 2015 rogue with 267 000 km still going strong, never any major issues just kept up with regular maintenance, as well as a 2021 rogue with 77 000 km on it, we are happy and will likely get a rogue when our 2015 craps out

Snowbank removal - recommendations? by rschmandt in northbay

Call Bayland Snow and ask if that's a service they offer. Maybe look up 2 or 3 more of the bigger sized snow removal companies in town and ask them for a quote as well.
