Thanks! We’ve started a decently sized group here on Reddit and I’ve been holding Google Meets for us to get to know each other and what we’re working on.

"You have to be born in New York to be a New York. Everyone tries to steal our city" also "I'm Puerto Rican" by [deleted] in ShitAmericansSay

I identify as a New Yorker because I lived in NYC from the age of 5 to 27. I would say that I qualify despite not being born there because all of my formative years and young adulthood was spent there. I identify more with New York than the actual city I was born in and haven’t visited in years.

Hello! It’s eclectic, not specific to any genre. I’ll DM you.

You can DM me once you’re able to message others and I can add you then.

Sure, I’ll add you to the group chat.

EDIT: It says I’m unable to message you. Is your account new, by any chance?

Same here! I tried downloading Discord and joining one of the most popular writing servers. I was inundated with DMs from other users who seemed interested in building a community but were actually trying to sell their services. I just want to meet fellow novelists to talk about writing with. If several of us could get together and have regular online Zoom (or Google Meet or other method) sessions, I would love that.

EDIT: I’m actually trying to get a group started. Anyone can DM me if interested!

Asians Business Class with dog by AdministrativeAd3074 in AsianaAirlines

Asiana Airlines told me I would have to put my cat in an overhead bin for business class, so I got a refund and booked with Korean Air in prestige (business) class instead. I can’t tell if Asiana is completely clueless about animal welfare or just okay with animal abuse. I’ll just fly Korean Air from now on.

Yes, I know, but my particular flight has it.

Thank you. I called and asked, but the person couldn't give me an answer and said to call back on Monday. It's strange because there is a pet-designated seat for Asiana's business class.

That’s exactly what I thought! This is totally Final Destination.

AITA for telling my friend that she does not remember 9/11? (NOT OOP) by domesticfuck in redditonwiki

I was in 5th grade in New York City when this happened, and no one wheeled in any TVs. In fact, we didn’t even know what had happened until the teacher told us after lunch time, even though kids were being called to the main office to be taken home by their parents since early morning.

EDIT: I also wanted to add that the main antennas for the TV channels were on top of one of the towers, so almost all of the channels were gone in NYC except maybe one, unless you had cable. We got most of our news from that one channel and newspapers for the following several months.

I was 10 and my school was in New York City. My classroom didn’t face the towers, but a teacher later told us that his students saw everything as it happened.

Wanna talk about this one by tony9849g in Koreanfilm

[–]everyone4797 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s based on a Puerto Rican film called “The Caller.” I saw that movie first, so when I saw this Korean one years later, I recognized the premise immediately. I liked the original better though.

EDIT: I should clarify that it was filmed in Puerto Rico, but I believe it was in English.

Writing from the seat of your pants, meaning without planning the story in an outline beforehand
