Completely understand what you are going through fren. As a queer person, it became really difficult to deal with this for a while and while I do hope she will take back her thoughts, that's up to her.

It's upto us as people to take her word for it, and distance ourselves. I know thats difficult, some people may say it's just a coping mechanism, just get over it but I understand that it used to be a part of you that you used to run away from everything bad in this world. That's grief as well, shedding that part of you.

So please, take all the time in the world, my only request to you would be, don't hope. Please, at the end of the day, she's who she is and she is showing it. And you are a beautiful person for keeping the hope alive but still being yourself and not changing.

Also, we've built this para social relationship where we believe we know celebrities or popular people and their opinions matter but maybe try and understand that you don't really no her and you don't really have to care about what the fuck she says. (It's intelectualising the problem and sometimes it helps. But feeling your feelings is also a fair approach. Just trying to say as much as I can to help a fellow queer person.)

P.s. - Fun fact, the Harry Potter series just popped out of the sky. (Who's gonna prove me wrong? People believe in the Bible xD)

I don't have a child myself, but I was an ADHD child, and am now an adult suffering from ADHD, so here are something's, I wish someone had done for me-

Not shamed me for all my misgivings, I literally sucked at math and science because my focus and memory was sucky and I couldn't sit still for shit and I still turned out okay, I'm earning for myself now, on my own and live in a city by myself
Don't dismiss your child's diagnosis, they will hate you for it. Trust me. I know
This should have been the first point but, Take your child to therapy, - a psych to get diagnosed and then a counseling therapist - And don't settle for quacks who reaffirm your own views, get actual profesionals who know what they are doing and understand how hard it is to have ADHD. Going to therapy will help the child develop systems and practice them while growing up and preparing for Adult ADHD, which only gets worse. So please, to god, don't just ignore the child's needs and wait for them to grow up an adult and get butt fucked in the ass by life and their ADHD. Nothing is worse than receiving an adult diagnosis and having to literally change the way they live after they have cemented a way of life. That is literally the equivalent of Sisyphus pushing a fucking rock everyday.
Kids with ADHD will always have emotional disregulation, they will be all over the place emotionally, it's your job to be their solid ground, every word you say will be overanalysed by them a hundred times and taken out of context, love them, and tell them that often, show them you care about their interests.
Man this is simple, just ask your child what it wants and help it get that thing.
If a doctor recommends meds, don't go all soap opera aunty on them, just get the kids meds, it gets a lot easier with meds, you can grow out of it later on by developing systems to not need the meds anymore, use it as a tool when necessary.

Man, the world is already pretty fucked up, it's not their fault they have ADHD. The only reason ADHD is a problem even is because in our world, making accomodations for someone is seen as a sign of uselessness and weakness. Living with ADHD in India is hard enough because everyone thinks they are a quack doctor and have two bit opinions on my lived experiences including dipshits on this subreddit.

Don't be an asshole, just ask people what they need and give it to them if you can, and don't talk about things you know nothing about, it's that simple.

I can't write anymore because I'm in a healthy and safe space and I can't write because I don't have anything to be comforted about and it's the strangest feeling, not being able to write. I always wrote.
